so i just bought a set of 720prs and now im stuck with 2 ab amps, a 2005 series RF p200.2 an a jl 2150
which is 70w vs 75ish watts.
which wouldbe the better fit, ive heard these things like a lot of power, im wondering if i even have enough and if either will be clean enough for hese things?
any help is appreciated, thanks.

Look at the fuses in the amps... which ever one has more total built-in fuse amperage will be more powerfull or have more headroom... go with that one.

Sell them both and use the money towards a 2x150+ w rms amp??? Saw a nice KX350.2 amp in the FS section.

or could be less efficiant and giving you less power

Yeah simply looking at fuse ratings is never a good way to compare amps. lol

Sounds kinda like a push between the two to me. You're not gonna notice a difference between one pushing 75W and the other pushing 85 or 90W. As mentioned above, selling them both for a more powerful amp is another option.

Maybe look at the crossovers on each, or see which would fit your install better? Other than that, I don't think it really matters, as they're both quality amps by reputable manufacturers.

If you know of better way to gauge an amps' approximate power short of testing, I'm all ears, captain Watts-A-Lot. The way I suggested would certainly help noobies steer clear of flea market junk. And just how much efficiency difference between two different manufacturer's class AlB amps would you expect to see? I'm betting it's less than 10% difference. Most class A/B amps today have the same tri-mode topology anyway, there is very little difference between them except for power, features, and looks in modern car audio amps today.
