go to pioneers website and download the oel screensaver program, they have a bunch u can download to a disc that are generic to pioneer that dont come on the deck, u can also make ur own pic by uploading it in this program and then u burn them to a disc and put the disc in ur deck and it will upload them,
oel scrensaver studio is free from pioneer

yeah, its kinda hard to get the whole thing to fit on the screen, easiest to do is download their own screensavers or make like background displays u can type in the size and font, color u like so i put hemi-22s on it as a moving background
just be prepared to crop the hell outta ya pics to get to fit on the screen or take a pic from kinda far away, u will see what imean lmk if i can be anymore help or if u have any issues i can walk u through it

nice deck by the way i used to have the 860 premier version nice display upgraded to the 780mp i sold to my lil bro now i got the 980 bt sittin in my closet cause i got a indash tv

also look in ur manual or on pioneerelectronics.com i think there was somethin special u had to do when putting th cd in for it to work so if u have a prob with it not reading the cd tjats prob why its been a while since i had that deck so i forgot but i could find it for ya if u need help

I went to the pioneer site and couldn't find where the download was. I found a page where it showed the OEL screen download and how it's compatible.

That's the wrong version, that version is for the newer models with high resolution, full color OEL displays, this (http://pioneer.jp/car/pclink3a/index-e.html) is the OEL ScreenSaver Studio for the 860/8600/960/9600 series.
