JL audio, Infinity and JBL all make great marine speakers.

I was really impressed by the construction and sound of the MTX marine speakers. They're definately worth a look.

Polk MOMO speakers are marine certified. Might be worth looking at, as well.

I don't really like JL products because of the price but their marine 6.5" components with the built in crossover on the mid-bass are AWESOME! They just want atleast 100 watts per side. The polks IMHO sound pretty crappy as far as quality and are really tinny. They are alright on lower power though.

i've put quite a few CDT's in boats, including my own. I've never had a single problem with them at all.

I hear Aquatic AV is pretty good. I have Poly Planars on my boat, but I just use them for backround music.

www.aquaticav.com

www.polyplanar.com

www.boemarine.com has the best pricing on either of these.

are all these marine speakers waterproof or just water resistant? I want to put the JL 7 inch marine components in my doors and kicks, but I go offroading a lot and hose out my interior when im done, so they would definately be getting wet

Not sure about the JLs, but the PolyPlanars and AquaticAV speakers are all waterproof. Cone, surround, and spider.
