I have a Buick Grand National that has the 3.5 dash speakers...I put a set of Earthquake Screamer mid tweeters in the dash ...with the brackets they were a near perfect fit...And that has to be the best set of mid tweeters I have ever heard...I ran them on radio power and wired into the inline 18db crossover......They are loud and crystal clear....:)

Pioneer makes horrible 3.5's. Rockford Fosgate's Power series (if they make them in 3.5's) are good speakers. Infinity is also a solid choice. In my Celica, I used Memphis Audio's Power Reference series 3.5's. They're loud for what they are. Don't expect much from 3.5's, they're too small to do much damage.

What kind of vehicle? If there is anyway you can custom install 6.5" or even 5.25" speakers in the kicks or doors, that would be the way to go. 3.5" are very inefficient and lacking in midbass in comparison... plus, speakers firing up at the windshield is not the best way to go.

Actually Pioneer once had a really awesome set of midrange 3.5's I think I still have a set....but their new stuff is pretty much crap...most 3.5's are crap...really...and the Pioneers I had were a mid range not a coaxial....That is why I like my Earthquake mid tweeters....I'm thinking of adding a small amp to them :)

You seem to have more money to waste than any other member of this foum, so of course you like what you have. You can afford to buy it and build it on your own time... :blackeye:

I've got an 85 Mustang GT. In this car im not very concerned with having a sick system, basically i just want to put in some decent speakers where i can. There are two 3.5's on each side of the dash and then i think a 5.25 in the center. I have an infinity in the center that is working well, i just need to get a decent set of 3.5's. Thanks for all the responses though.

Infinity makes a decent 3.5

Since your pleased with the infinity in the center...then go infinity on each side...If your running radio power they should be fine...I do recommend some sort of passive crossover network at around 6-800hz at least even if it is as simple as a 6 db cap....a 47u non polarized should be about right....

I was being serious, jackass. I'm not talking about the new crap that Pyle has out, I had a set from the early/mid 90's and they were great.

Infinity makes a decent 3.5

I had the infinity kappas in my dash. They sounded pretty good for what they where.

They come with a great crossover network. I highly reccomend amping them, even if it's just 50w amp

Buddy don't go calling me a jackass. You know **** well you were trying to be a cool guy and recommend a crap brand to somebody who was looking for help. If someone wants a recommendation why the hell would you refer them to speakers built 10+ years ago, let alone pyle speakers? Give me a break. It's scumbags like you that give this forum a bad image. Go mung your grandmother.
