1 quick question.....

Are mounting sleeves universal? do they fit any radio chassis or are they model/make specific?

size wise, they are all universally the same.

However, the locking tabs are almost always different.

I guess thats what I was asking. say if you had a DIN pioneer radio and you slid an alpine in the pioneer's sleeve would it click and hold?

its hit or miss on that one......some head units will use the same latching mechanism while others will be vastly different........

do this.

Slide the HU into the cage and get some ISO mount screws to pinch the cage to the unit. Used to do this for customers that had the HU and not the cage and didn't want to spring for it.

^ what he said works if you have the screws that will screw in to the side of the radio, you put the radio in the cage then put these screws in through the cage.
but this is kinda point less..
because Iso mounting use's the cars radio brackets. that you would screw in to the radio..

what kinda radio are you trying to install and in what car?

If you don't mind waiting until I can get extra cash, I can buy a new mounting sleeve and send it to you, but you'd be waiting a while on that one. Your's will be sent out tomorrow if I can get up early enough.

oh, nm then, you won't be able to reach the side of the radio to put the iso screws in.

The trick is to get the radio slid into the sleeve, then use the ISO screw holes close to the end of the cage - and use the ISO screws to pinch the sleeve to the radio.

It would work on your GA, but F150 is single din for that year I believe.
