nowhere close to 4 ft with that space....especially ported. My xxx was in a 4 cube box at 28 and it was 43x16x19

i know its just over 3. you guys think if i went on the smaller size and just upgraded my amp from the zx400.1 to a kx600.1 to make up for the smaller box

i would go sealed before i'd put it in a too small ported box

i want it to get somewhat loud

ahhhh the ugly "sealed boxes don't get loud" myth

while ported boxes are more efficient sealed boxes can get very loud

tell you what...when my cutlass is finished..i'll drive to sandusky and you tell me that sealed boxes can't get loud!!!!!!!

im not saying that. if i build a box i want a challenge its not something i do every day

well what do you think about porting the box and having it fire in the car

im not saying that. if i build a box i want a challenge its not something i do every day

if your doing it for a challenge then fire away...but if your building it for a 15" sub, you might want to consider building it to spec. And 400 watts is not enough power for that sub....i would put a ZX750.1 on it at least...maybe a 1000.1

well what do you think about porting the box and having it fire in the car

its your car and your woman...you gotta live with both. i personally fire my ports to the rear

im gonna ask the company if i can kind of get my money back and get the kx600.1 that they have for sale

ive never had success firing into the car but if i fire it back and i build a tight fitting box that leaves little room for it to bounce back in to the car i dont know how effective it will be

well...my opinion stays the same. Slap it in a 2.0 net box and put a ZX1000.1 on it and bang away

i wish you were leaning the other way because it i had more power to work with id probably go sealed but i jumped on amp right away with out getting everything figured so i gotta try to figure something but thanks for the help

well...you could try to get a 3.0^3@35 htz box...thats what RE recommends as a compact design. the problem is thats still a big box after port and sub placement.

i think ive come up with good dimensions for my box 25w x 15.5h x 24d. a little over 3.5
