about to start buildin amp rack

just thought id let u guys know im gonna start on thursday (day-off) and im still open for suggestions. im gonna go with mdf cuz i dont know how to fiberglass. going in a 2003 jetta. gonna build two amp racks actually (sub amp + distroblock on the left, speaker amp + xovers on the right side of the trunk)
ive never built an amp rack before so im gonna learn in the run... although if theres anything i should know before i start id really like to know.

ok ive got a question... how do i mount the faceplate once ive got it cut out into a desired shape and size? im guessin i will have to build a base to hold it or something, so it looks like an "L" when viewed from the side? with some extra support of course?
is this what i should do ir do any of u guys have other ideas?
