Why particle board, you should use mdf. Particle board vibrates too easily as compared to mdf. I also think that mdf is better looking.

It didnt look like you used any glue at all for the box. Is it just held together by screws? I thought the quad looked like a ripped up banshee. Oh, and 2 different kind of subs FTMFW!!!:suicide:

poundindak69

we did use liquid nail on it after we screwed a few screws in , and no its not a bansee or a worrior and a quadzilla.

Yamaha warrior I believe.. oh and.. ya good luck with that..

Warrior is air cooled.

Quadzilla and banshee are 2 strokes. This is a four stroke.

in fact I am stumped now, because that seat isn't from a mojave, so my first guess is wrong as well.

And please god buy some mdf, you will have much better results.........

:crap:
Didn't even look at the pipe. I'm stumped now too, because the seat is what led me to beleive it was a Quadzilla, or Quadracer.

I admire your enthusiasm and I do think that the box turned out OK (read you did good on the build). However putting two different types of subs in the same box powered with different amps is an exercise in futility. Why do you think some comments have been harsh? Because most of us have done similar things in our youth. Audio has a learning curve. Some try helping by sarcasm, others just offer their support.
I think you should have at least divided the airspace and put the two MTX subs on one side (own airspace, own amp) with the eclipses on the other with their own amp. That way at least the subs are not competing for the same air and working against each other.
Think of it this way. If you took a V8 engine and on one half of the engine put smaller pistons (assume the block is "fitted" to the pistons) you will have an engine that not only is NOT efficient but likely will tear itself apart. In that box you have 2 pistons with a certain set of "dynamics" which are NOT shared with the others.. Instead of increasing your piston area you are effectively making your subs work against one another. I would be VERY surprised if those 4 would be louder than just two in the same box.

poundindak69
09-05-2007, 02:08 PM
well sorry about feelin that some coments are harsh and if you have read it all it says that i am workin on get more of the eclipse's here soon the mtx's are just temps.
