This is a 3.6 cube box. Ported to 30.8 hz. It is for 2 JL Audio 12w3's. I was pleased with how it came out, no gaps or anything. Cant wait to hear it when I deliver it Friday. Only cost $45 to build. It is not completely finished yet. I painted it flat black with a white JL logo. The logo ***** so im probably just going to coat it with spray on bed liner. Let me know what you think.

Thanks man. Im going to cover it in bed liner so that should solve the color problem and make it look a little smoother.

I originally planned on 4 inch ports but space on the baffle were a bit limited. Also did you notice the ringed flares on the ports? The ports are also attached the the rings and to the box so the ports arent going anywhere.

It'a a ***** to get the spray -on bedliner to stick.

I reccomend fleckstone....get many cans as I seem to go through it fast.

you might wanna try and sand down the rough edges on the box...

flecksone FTW!

Just make sure it gets AT LEAST 48 hours to dry. It can chip/smear easily if its not fully cured.

You use that down the side correct?

Well, I wiggle the router and it creates dents in my work.

thats what the little wheel at the bottom is for so it roll along so it cant dent the wood, making it flush, hence the name, flush bit

x2

wheel on bottom of flush mount bit acts as a guide so you shouldnt dent the wood at all. works like a charm whenever i need it!!

more than that it looks like the ports are almost touching the back wall.
how close are they from the back???

Flip, Im not familiar with Fleckstone. Where do you get it and how much does it cost?

It sold at Lowe's and Walmart.

There are two versions:

1 says the word stone on it and runs about $9/can
Another (made bu Rustoleum) says texture and runs about $6/can.

I use the Rustoleum texture. I really like it and it matches my interior....

However, I will end up using about 5 cans to get it looking really nice.

should have done the ports like this :)

http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/9212/82736893ro1.jpg

the pretty trim at the front of the ports is screwed in from the back, so no ugly screws on the outside... the ports are mounted to the baffle, you can remove the pretty trim, carpet the box, and screw it back on :)

anyway, keep up the good work!

If you use fleckstone just buy the cheap clear at walmart and put a thin coat over it after the fleckstone drys for about 12 hrs. It will give the fleckstone a good bond and keep it from chunking off so easily.

not if you take it somewhere that does bedliners professionally.
