This thread no longer about that exact ebay offer.

Thread has converted into a CD5000 (hifi Audio) vs CD7000 on ebay comparison.

Thank you.

Here are the 2 items.

if the item you buy is not how it was described when you receive it you can file a claim wich could result in a refund and if your lucky you can keep the product to!

It has DSP sound processing builtin thats near equal with Alpine's outboard $500 h701, and the CD7000 has a detachable face, which I dont believe the CD5000 had.

Indoaudio has a less than stellar reputation around here, you might do a search to see what many people think of them.

There's a big difference in the controls on these newer models, Any input on how the compare to the older control layout?

How is hifi audio?

They're selling one for the same price, $250.

I kind of like the CD5000s looks. Is the CD7000 a really nice upgrade?

Been reading up on the two models, and I think I like the 5000 better. $50 cheaper is great too. Unless someone can convince me by sunday, I'm going to order the 5000.

I have a CD7000 that I haven't installed yet. But I did use the CD8445, which looks to be basically the same as the CD5000. Nice HU's but has some quirks that bothered me. Mainly these:
- remote's volume up/down button verrrrry slow. when you hold it down, the volume moves each notch at about 1/2 second intervals
- this problem is compounded by the faceplate volume knob, which is small and difficult to grip
- track up/down knob on faceplate is way too sensitive, you end up skipping a track or two more than you intended. This can be remedied by using the remote.
- when faceplate drops down to insert cd, it swings out and down about 2 inches, so make sure you have adequate clearance below and in front of the unit.\
- signal processing, like time delay and eq aren't as adjustable as the CD7000 or Alpine's units.

I would maybe go with the CD7000/7100 or one of the latest Alpine units.

Isn't it the CD7000 that does the drop down like that? I thought the CD5000 just tilted a bit, like the old 5405-5435s.

Also I can't get an alpine, my car won't fit fold down units.

Actually, both the 7000 and the 5000 drops down.

Actually, both the 7000 and the 5000 drops down.

They both do the far drop? So they changed them after the 5405-8455 series?

Edit: Okay, so it turns out that my car can't fit anything where the face moves, because the reciever is in a slow that goes pretty far in, and it won't be able to open.

II'm going to make a new thread, so this one doesn't get anyone off track. So that means I don't get eclipse... sad.

There is night and day difference between the DSP power of the CD5000 and CD7000 and its well worth the $50. I am an Eclipse fan but would not spend my money on a CD5000 unless putting in the wife’s car. She currently even has almost double the processing power from here current Alpine set-up.

The CD5000 is one step above entry level the CD7000 is top of the line get the drift.IMO

The CD5000 has limited EQ, T/A and x-over ability compared to the CD7000. You cannot buy the difference between the two in a stand alone unit for less than about 300 so $50 bucks difference is a **** good deal.IMO

This is all my .2 cents but I think many would agree with my statements. If not that's why they are IMO.

Sounds good, and If I had the option I'd get it, but it seems now that's not an option due to my car not accepting it.

You can mod the dash as an option. ***** about your dash if thats the case you need something that has the open CD slot on the front with no swing down face pretty much.
