I'm looking for a double din dvd/navigation Head unit. I've been looking at the Eclipse 5510 and 6610 and I love their features. However, I ran across some disturbing news, that they don't have detachable faces? I will be parking my car at Rutgers University in New Brunswick that has had 23 reported incidents of stolen navigation systems since the end of April. I always see shattered glass on the ground now, I hate these pricks. ANYWAY, so I need a unit with a detachable face. Any suggestions? I'm looking to spend no more than 12-1300. Thanks.

the only indash dvd screen i ever saw was my dudes 7'' touch screen from JVC, it folds down flat. you pull it out and it comes with a cover for it....

Ugh this really blows... any suggestions of covering a double din screen up? It's going in a 2001 Toyota Avalon XLS, so it's not a cheap car that looks easy to break into, not that it matters nowadays anyway.... I dunno anyone ever seen like a custom cover for a double din? If I can't cover it up, it's not worth worrying it'll get stolen. Grrr

get an 2 way alarm & a gun

You can always ghetto rig it like I did. :) I have tint, so it's easier. I always place GPS antenna inside on top of the unit, get pretty good signal.

And hide the XM antenna near the rail, can you find it?

Next is install security alarm.

lol. I have a 2 way paging with prox sensor. But still, the car will be parked in a parking deck, so that won't necessarily stop thieves who have a minute when noone is around.

I dunno, I really don't like flip ups too much, but I want a DVD/Navi unit. Grrrrrrrr I guess I'll go to a few custom shops and see if they have any ideas.

I wish I could have tint here, but fronts are illegal in NJ =(
