Well, they came today after I had to wait awhile for them to clear customs. They seem very high quality, and I am going to do my best to get them installed this weekend, but I may need a little help on how to install them in my 2001 4 door GMC Jimmy. Anyway, on to the pics, I just posted thumbnails to be nice and not have this take forever to download.

Awesome. I'm saving my pennies for a pair of those also. I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy, so I am very interested to know how your install goes.

Keep us posted!

btw why was customs involved going from NJ to MI?

Because they are made in Germany then shipped into the US. They have to go through customs to enter the country, then they can be shipped from NJ.

SLC's were backordered for a good week+ and had a container in the US with the product on it that got delayed from clearing customrs around the 4th July timeframe.

He bought them, people like them, he will most likely like them, if you want to recommend a speaker, recommend a speaker. Don't be a *** and tell people their speakers blows, even if they like it.

I like my Powerline CMX's.....and I just had my SLC Kicks uninstalled for those. Germaniums only have the CAL25 silk tweeter version available with the latest model, and I definitely prefer a metal tweet over silk for my rock/metal listening tastes.

BTW, Lust, you like old Carcass/Entombed stuff? Nothing like some vintage Brit/Swede grindcore.

But back on topic, I really liked my SLC Kicks....even moreso than my Focal Polyglass and my older MB Quart Q set.

The Kicks have a very detailed, balanced sound, and can take a decent amount of power, as long as you're smart with the gains.

Enjoy your set! :fro:

musician? what kind of pro audio setup do you run? I'd be happy to hear how "high end" you are. Me, i'm buying a pair of Rainbows, because some of us can't afford $1000 comp sets. Normal people have budgets. It's a car...not unless you live in it should you have to install a HiFi system in it. That's what the HT is for.

Settle down guys! You guys seem to know your high end components. So heres my question what would be a good set for around $500. Focal, CDT, Morel, MB Quart? I like a good smooth tweet probably silk. I currently have Diamond D6 components and amp. Looking to upgrade.

Did you install them in the doors? If so, were they too deep in the stock mounting location? Did you use the factory plastic mounting bracket, or build a mounting bracket from MDF?

Any pics of the install?

Thanks!

Used the stock stuff in the doors, I did have to cut some of the rubber sleeve off of the pillar the guides the window, but it was on the opposite side of where the window hits it so it no big deal. The tweeters are mounted kinda weirdly, I screwed the mounts through the holes on the stock grills so the tweets are sitting on top of them, sounds fine though.

So it doesn't interfere with the window? It still goes all the way down?

Yup, in my Jimmy there is a metal bar that goes right behind where the speaker is, the window lowers on the opposite side of that bar from the speaker and goes all the way down.

You should have also deadened it. glad you enjoy them, but they could sound better ;)
