Possible new project....2000 Mustang GT

[93 saturn sl2]

My friend wrecked his mustang last weekend. The front end is ****ed up, so it looks like the insurance company is gonna total it. If the car is cheap enough to buy it back than im gonna do that and have something to do when im bored.

If worst comes to worst I can just part the car out and make a couple grand.

Just to make the front look new again it would need the following..

radiator core support
radiator
condensor
front bumper (Im gonna replace it with an 03/04 cobra bumper)
energy absorber
bumper reinforcement
headlights
fog lights
hood

Im probably going to swap the auto for a 5-speed and repaint the whole car sonic blue.

dammnnn man good luck that looks like a killer project. Remember to check the junkyards and ebay. You can find most of those parts except for the radiator support. But if your set on doing this project take your time and look for the best deals for parts. If you are going to repaint you might as well start pulling the motor and the interior, windows, dash, etc. If you plan to repaint it a different color. that is what i would do anyways.

thats an easy fix. all primary..centralized.

check for secondary damage:
roof waves (roofs[rooves?] fludder like skanks in accidents)
rear quarter bucking (any buckling for that matter)
cowl alighment
check the trunk gaps- transfer of energy. if the truck gaps dont line up, the whole car frame is probably in a diamond shape. looked to be a pretty headon hit tho..so you prob wont have that problem.

He hit a pole holding power lines.

some kid I know hit a pole holding power lines in a mustang too... his was upside down tho.
