The moderation staff will NOT delete for sale threads by user (thread starter's) request after an item has sold, due to lack of sale, item being taken off the market, etc

This is done (or rather, not done) in the best interest of the community as a whole for reasons such as;

In case there are any disputes about the sale at a future time the original thread is still available for all to see and refer back to

It can be used as a reference by forum searchers to help determine the value of product(s) being sold or wanting to be sold on the forums

It can be used by forum searchers to see what transactions a member has conducted or items they've had for sale previously as an unofficial "reference check" or other research on a particular user's transaction history

There are particular instances where the deletion of a for sale thread by user request may be granted. For instance, if a considerable amount of post dumping/off-topic conversation has occured it may be better to just delete the entire thread and start over.

Other than that, generally there must be a violation of TOS/forum rules to warrant the deletion of a thread.

So again;
