Raceway park is much much much farther than Manny's. Your gonna spend about $25-30 per USACi class and about $15 per re run and that is not including what you are gonna pay at the gate to get in. Unless maybe money ain't a thang for you. I did 1 USACi show there about 3 years ago and swore I'd never do it again after driving all the way down there, dropping all that money buying gas, entry fees and all that only to sit there all day watching guys do 30 second burps and re run after re run only to get quieter and quieter. He said is doing DB Drag & Bass Race for $5 each for the noobies there. Do both shows then come back and tell me you still think its BS. BTW, we take loudness up a notch in New England.

Actually, comparatively speaking, the USAC guys are right on par with the DB drag guys, though it's a bit unfair to compare the two since the rules are COMPLETELY different.

Same for MECA.

Put a DB drag guy in MECA and he'll get owned, and vice versa.

nice
06-29-2007, 06:51 PM
You are absolutely wrong. I've done MECA. Most of the 'big' numbers in MECA are owned by DB Dragers. The same is true for USACi.

You are absolutely wrong. I've done MECA. Most of the 'big' numbers in MECA are owned by DB Dragers. The same is true for USACi.

What the hell are you talking about?

I've competed in MECA for the past 3 years.

Hardly ANY top db draggers come into MECA. In fact, I can't name any that have placed in the top 3 at meca FINALS for the past 2 years. Now, every now and then a big number may pop up in MX3 (the highest non-extreme class) in MECA because one of the superstreet guys does MECA at a big show like SBN or SVR. But none of those guys seriously compete in MECA.

Now usaci on the other hand, that may be true. I don't follow usaci as much as the other two.

nice
06-29-2007, 09:28 PM
You're right. I just looked up the 2006 finals and non of the "big dogs" were there. Since MECA imposed that stupid "fuse rule" it became usless for DB Dragers to compete. Having finals in some muddy field was'nt too inviting either.
Besides, a MECA title doesn't hold the weight that a DB Drag title does. How many Companies use MECA champions in their magazine advertisements? How many TV shows have had MECA champs appeared on them?
In 2003, I held a MECA State title and in 2004, I was a SLAP National champion which made me proud, but I knew that DB Drag was for the "big dogs". Kicker was kind enough to sponsor me but every other company wanted to know if I competed in DB Drag.
That's just the way it is.

Oh, trust me, I agree.

If I could afford to compete in db drag, I would do it. But I've always said that if I have to buy a car to be competitive, then I was going to quit competing. It's no longer fun to me at that point.

Now bassrace on the other hand, that I can do. :)

Next Sunday, there is a USACi show here in Hamden, Ct.

Well here is a update from the Md show saturday night. It was a STEREO show of coarse.I had a crowd around my truck wanting to hear it so i figured its a stereo comp so it be cool.Wrong i was rudely told to turn it down, and when the guy was walking away he said it wasnt even loud anyways.Good thing i didnt hear him say that.Well tehn later in the evening there was nothing at all going on no judging no racing nothing.Again i had a bunch of people wanting to hear it.And again the other judge rudly tells me to turn it off or he will kick me out of the show. Then when it was my turn to go up i did around a 148 in street beat?????This is my opinion but i think usaci *****.

I absolutely hate shows like that. It's a stereo competition, but yet you can't play your stereo?

I blame it on the shops that pick really crappy locations like right next to a neighborhood or something along those lines.

Luckily a majority of the shows by me are in pretty rural areas or by big shopping malls with big parking lots. :)

So How many ppl went to this show. I remember a few years ago I went to one there at E town. It wasent the greatest show. They had us in a small space we couldnt ever like form a line to roll up the lanes....Im not a big fan of usaci or a hater. One things I find odd and really dont like is that you do both passes in like one shot. You get two runs but have to do them right there and then. That show the assman was talking about I really didnt like that dude who ran it and I think just about EVERYONE else there didnt either. He wouldnt tell you what place you were in. He acted like an A#@ to just about everyone in the show. And ppl wounder why there are less an less shows. I know If I do go back next year. Im doing the car show part and running my truck down the strip like tens times. Who ever heard of that **** were you couldnt play your system at a drag strip in the middle of no place at a drag strip at a stereo contest. Then to give the assman a 148 was pathetic at best. That person should never ever be allowed to run another usac show again. I know atco too has dropped usaci shows as well. Hafl the time too and this is just my opinion is that its not the ppl not coming to the shows. Its the ppl hosting them who need to get there act together.

ok being that its slightly louder i really do miss my low end. there bass notes i use to hear and now there dam near gone. and i really have to do some adjusting to my amps and epic cuz now im smelling coil and this is the second time that happen . the first time it happend was over a yr ago when i didnt set my gains properly. so with that bing said im not competing in the 139 bass race class im going to dominate the 129class and when i burp it in the db drag side them i will give it all its got...so 2day i will be doing some testing and 2morrow i will be doing the same thing. i would like to try and build a port so i can tune it cu the sound of it moving further than normal i hate it. so i will be ready by next saturday for manny show. thats all for now until i can think of something meaningful to type

I built the box for the 139.9 bassrace champion. :)

He did a 144 in bassrace with 2 crunch 12's and a 20.1 @ 1 ohm (which is crap power). Now that he's got the crunch 3000d in there, it will do over a 146 in bassrace. :) All this from the TRUNK of a cavalier.

Get some real good 12's, run the amp at .5, and some more batteries, and a high 140 isn't out of the question. ;)

80 has a hard-on for bandpasses, and I have yet to figure out why.

If you fire the port back, won't it get absorbed or blocked by the junk in your trunk?

How about leaving the stuff home on show days?

What dont you think so. Not sure who the other stuff is for either. I had another show to go to but I do agree with the last part with ppl not supporting events...I see that Tech114 answered my question with they had a good turn out. I seen some of them Meca guys at the Maryland show. They had a good turn out as well. That was the day before. They were on the same team guy had a dodge ram blue with 2 solo's and his buddy with some ford escort mabye had two solo's two they hit like the same number at the maryland show.
