Either of these boxes good for a single 12" Fi Q?

Alright, my buddy snagged a couple designs from here, but I need a second opinion on which to use.

I can't go much taller than the second one, as my trunk is 15" tall at the lowest point. I'm leaning twords the second, but shound't it be tuned a bit higher?
