Well it's finally working... almost 6 months after buying it lol. There are still a few things left to do, hook up the bottle heater, finish up the purge (out of hood scoops) and call about the bottle opener and if it's not shipping get a different bottle and opener. It's a new opener and the only one that will work with this bottle... but seems as if they are late on getting it out. At least this is what I'm told.

Nice looking setup. Did you install it yourself? How big of a shot did you do?

I did what I could but no I didn't do it all myself. I had my bud's shop wire it up for me, set up the window switch, etc.

Right now I'm running a 150 shot. I might go to the dyno tomorrow... but it's going to be hot (100+) so I dunno. On my last cam the car made 420RWHP/380RWTQ. I switched over to a smaller torque cam... should lose 10-15RWHP but gain 10-20RWTQ. So I'm interested to see what the car will put down, but with this heat it's almost not worth the $75 dyno time.

Yeah custom guages/pod and nitrous switches. Not cheap and wait time ****** on them but if you are going to do it might as well do it right IMO.

Quick vid of 68-14x MPH on the bottle...

How do you like yours? I plan on buying one and storing it and slowly re-building the motor. Forged internals and possibly a procharger. =)

blow down tubes are for tracks only, and I am not even sure you need one if the
bottle is in the trunk. I run a 15 lb bottle inbetween drivers and pass seats
so I can open it while staging with a separate valve and use the blow down tube when they ask me too

need juice?
I just ordered 150 lbs of it (2 75 lb tanks) I pay 1.35 a lb :)

Aye, when isolated in the trunk usually you don't need a blow down tube.

So if your safty disk bursts, your cool with it emptying a 10lbs bottle into your car?

I guess for me, owning a shop.. I dont skip any steps. I've been through every situation possible both street and strip.

To each his own.

if you unload 10 lbs of nitrous in your driver compartment
not only will the sound of it scare the crap out of you, you'll be
quite stoned.......I have seen the saftey disc blow and its a like a bottle
rocket with no stick - whooohooo

Not really worried about, also it's not like the bottle is always in the car.

After I port my heads and or get new ones I plan on 2 stealth 10's, a set of components up front, a HU and 2 amps. Nothing too big but yes the stock system *****. I just figured after doing 2 big systems in my last vehicles it was time for a change.

For the money you will not get a better car than the GTO IMO.

I'm not use to the IRS bullcrap yet. Cam/bolt ons I have ran it consistently at 12.00 @ 116 with a 1.9 60'. With a 150 shot and some 17" stockers with MT ET Streets my goal is 10.7 @ 131. I've also done almost a full suspension set up since I last ran the car as well.

I've also swaped the cam out to something with some more low end grunt to help get this pig off the line. The other cam just didn't have the power down low. I've lost some top end HP but the low end torque/flatter torque curve I gained will more than make up for it.

Port or buy aftermarket heads. Then a small stealth sound system. After that it will just depend on how much free cash I will have and if I feel it's worth putting anymore money into the car.

I still don't know why, but i really like the exhaust on the GTO's before the refresh when it was just on one side. Yeah, i don't really understand it either.

Sadly I believe when the Pontiac G8 comes out the GTO will be traded in on one. That is if they are not lying with what motor/drivetrain they will be coming with. It seems that the G8 will be a pretty stout car, nice motor with heads that flow 330CFM stock, 6L80e A6 trans, decent rear end, it can fit 295's in the rear, etc. On top of that they will have a twin turbo kit for it befor it comes out... $6000 with 60lb injectors and with only that and a dyno tune the car is good to make around 600RWHP/TQ. :)

Beautiful car man. Very clean work, and nice engine mods so far. Top end is useless, the torque is what makes those cars fun.

The more I read the more I want one. It seems they they will also come out with a bigger V8 than the one they have listed... either a LS2 like the GTO or a LS3, I guess it will be in the G8 GXP (or at least there is talk of it)? I want a G8 but the L76 and LS3 motors are going to be a ***** to tune... oh how I fear that. I also fear that the rear end on these car may not be as stout as the ones on the GTO's.

Why do you think they'd be more difficult to tune? And i'm creaming for the 400hp+ version. First GM car i've been excited about since the z06

The LS2's are just starting to get to where you can finally do some good tuning with them. It takes HP tuners awhile to get codes cracked and their software out. Even the 2007 Vetts are a b!tch...
