I am looking to buy a set of component speakers for the front of my 2001 GMC Jimmy and am looking to spend around $150 or so, maybe up to $200 and if need be I can get a set of Rainbow SLC 265s for $220.

Here are what I am looking at, , http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13544, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15340, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=11798, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14414, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17540, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=12999, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13368, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=11418, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17563, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14754. So, what of the sets I listed will give the best bang for the buck and still knock my socks off with their sound quality? All help is appreciated.

Can't go wrong with MB Quarts. Although, I do like how the JL VR650'S sounds. Personally, I'd go with the first set you posted.

Ok, it has been narrowed down between these http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=89&idproduct=235 or these http://car.rainbow-audio.de/products/details.php?lan=2&pro=1&lin=7&art=231150

lot of choices there!!

if it was me, id take the Quarts out of the choices from onlinecarstereo, but id prolly go with the Rainbows if ya got a deal!

but the JLs and PGs arent bad either, im not a big fan of RF and Alpine speakers

but man ya gotta get out and listen to some of these speakers!!!!!

well now that you narrowed down between Cadence and Rainbow, although ive never heard either, from what i hear and read, the Rainbows are very good speakers and pretty highly regarded on this forum!

Or what about a CDT Audio set in that price range, I can get both the SLC 265 and Cadence CVL-6K for $220.

Definitely let us know how you like them. I am still trying to decide between the SLC265 Kick's and CDT HD-62's. I really want strong punchy bass/midbass with smooth and clear vocals and highs. I am leaning towards the Rainbows also.

What's the difference between the normal SLC265's and the SLC265 Kicks?

The kicks produce ~3db more in the lower range. Suposedly ideal for installation in doors and where more midbass is wanted. And they are about $50 more.
