The chances you can beat any of those deals are about zero. I have a Philips 37in LCD and its one of the better looking HDTV's I've seen, looks much better than friends Sony and destroys the Olevia, I paid about 800 for it a year ago from that site. There is one on there now for 570 something with free shipping, and it can display 1080i, its obviously just not natively that resolution, but few tv's are right now (at least near your budget).

360 can do 1080p in games. A patch released in the Fall allows this. One game that I know runs in 1080p is Guitar HeroII.

i was in your shoes 2 weeks ago, i was looking for a 32" LCD for 600-700$

i ended up looking around at best buy and a few places and went to sam's club and they had a vizio 32" for 599 and 37" for 799, reviews looked pretty good on if for budget tv

but i ended up getting the phillips sitting right beside it for 740$, havnt been dissapointed in it yet works very well for the 360:D gears of war and guitar hero...and forza 2 :)
http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=361889 mine is silver though, and i liked that it has a swiveling base so you can turn the tv easy and such to hook up the xbox easier...?

i find myself watching discovery hd theater just because it looks good, im used to my old 27" crt...FTL :(

its only $400 and your complaining about it not having 1080p LOL

dont worry about 1080p man the tv is to small to even tell the difference between 720 and 1080p you need at least a 50 inch to see a slight difference and the bigger the more of a difference their is...

1loudsuv
06-13-2007, 03:42 AM
just make sure its native 720p resolution cause theirs lots of tv out their that accept it but are only 480p native

I know this is off topic but I have to ask. Where the hell are you working that you can afford a 5-600 TV and an xbox elite while your in college? When I was in school (only a year ago) Me and my roomate had hand me down everythings in our apartment and I had a 27" CRT that cost me 100 bucks during a black friday sale 4 years ago. I'm so jealous of you kids nowadays. Are you gonna have this setup in your dorm or you got an apartment?

Did you look at the Polaroids? I don't like the Silver finishes! The Polaroid resembles my Samsung in every way. It also has really good sound which you should also look at when making a decision unless you want to spend for another piece to support it. You can go 26 or 32 inch on those.

Mommy and Daddy gotta be in there somewhere man. You drive an 06 Cherokee too. Come on....spill the beans. Free bump

Oh yea what the hell is barbacking? Its sounds pretty close to barebacking and as much I enjoy it, I dont get paid for it.

dvrmstrng
06-14-2007, 12:10 PM
no...i sold my old *** blazer for 5k...used that as a down payment....and i lease my jeep with a monthly payment of $99....and barbacking is basically you do everything that youd think a bartender should do except for pour drinks, its in a nightclub, you setup, ice, get beer and liquor

mom and dad dont help

I bought a 50 inch panasonic plasma at sams for 850 and a 46 inch vizio lcd at sams for 600. They normally have great open box items.

I just got a 32" Sharp from Costco with their $150 coupon. That expired 2 weeks ago. But if you are willing to spend about $800 or so, I'd recommend getting it. I don't really have any complaints right now. It has 2 hdmi, 2 component I believe, more than enough. I have it connected to my computer via dvi -> hdmi, and besides the overscanning issues I'm getting with my video card, everything looks great. HD looks great too. I had my mind set on the Vizio, but this popped up and was only $50 more.

dvrmstrng
06-25-2007, 04:49 PM
yeah well forget the 32" comment...cause i saw that Vizio has a 48" LCD i think for $999 after coupon...so what do you guys think...best LCD for 1k or under

Go with an open box model like someone said earlier. I got a 32" Sharp Aquos Lcd for 590.00 and I love it. I got it from circuit city as a floor model and it was the last one they had and weren't gonna get anymore in.
