I'm looking for a new set of 6.5" comps to replace my Rainbow Dream Lines. They need to have good midbass, smooth highs, and be able to handle 150wRMS. They'll be installed in a well damped/deadened door.
My spending limit is $250 and so far my list of possibilities looks like this -
1. DLS Ultimate UPS (http://www.dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_65)
2. CDT EF-61FG w/ TW-25 tweets (http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4630)
3. Boston Acoustics SL60 (http://www.bostonacoustics.com/car/car_product.aspx?category_id=14&family_id=94&product_id=293)
4. Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 (http://www.infinitysystems.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=KAPPA%20PERFECT6.1&cat=KPE&ser=KPE&Language=ENG&Country=US&Region=USA)
5. Diamond Audio D661s (http://www.diamondaudio.com/content/view/105/119/)
6. Phoenix Gold Xenon 6.5 (http://www.phoenixgold.com/2004/xenonspeakers.html)
Which would be a better choice? Thanks.

First off, the infinity kappas, and the pg xenons have 0 midbass, as for the rest I cannot make a claim. I do however reccomend the phoenix gold rsd comps for explosive midbass, and smooth highs.

Yep, RSd65cd. Or if you can afford around $280, there's the Rainbow SLC 265 Kick.

I'd vote for a DIY set.

Nope
[edit] yes, it does now.
Why oh why would you recommend Pyramid speakers from a shady internet photography store (likely one of those NY/Brooklyn scammers)?

Yes I believe very much that install plays a big role. I spent days soundproofing my car and making sure I built a good foundation for my system. :)

I say EF61FG's, i am using the entry level CL's and the midbass in very strong and the tweeters are very soft and clear so the EF series should sound ever better since it has a better mid.
