i'm planning on getting the jvc kd-g430 from crutchfield because of its price and i was wondering if it's any good. if not, can you recommend anything lower than $180 with ipod controls? thanks

for $180 with iPod controls get a Pioneer DEH-P4900ib from crutchfield if you want.

Or you could check out the wealth of Headunits for sale in the classifieds for cheap:
Eclipse CD5000 - 250
Pioneer Premier DEH-P880PRS - 250
Pioneer Premier DEH-P860MP - 200

Awesome decks, much better than that one...

you're sorce unit is if not the best/ the next best thing in the chainof you're system... a quality headunit will payoff in the long run...

from who? They make good, reliable decks. the 880PRS is one of the most popular choices around here, especially when looking for an HU with built-in active x-over controlls.

I think hes referring to the preout issues. In which case has consumers,dealers and distibutors a bit on edge lately.

my cousin has a 6900 and my friend has a 4900...both are great units and neither have a grounding issues (both of them are running amps)
