How much will I Notice 3 way?

Right now I am running cdt es-06+ in the factory door pods on a 2006 mustang. Each one is getting 150 watts from a 300/4.

I have another 300/4 that powers the cdt es-02 2" tweeters. 75 to each tweet.


Right now they are being run active off the alpine cda-7995 and 300/4 adjustments.

I have another 75x2 that I wanted to run a set of cdt es-4 4" mids with.

The tweeters are in the pods that the 4" and 1" oem setup used to be in. Like so. The stock tweeters are only in their to fill the gap.

I want to put the es-02 in the mirror cover location.
Run the 4" IB in the location the tweeters are currently
And keep the es-06+ how they are.
Everything run active off a coustic xm-7 until i can afford a w205/h701 combo.


So how much of a noticeable difference will their be adding in the 4" to what i currently have. Would it be justified spending the $200 or so for the 4" and xover.

If you can keep the 4' mid and tweet together where the tweeter is now (drivers close together/low in the door), if the crossovers are right and everything is tunned/dialed in right, The 3-way system should have a more open and live sound to it.

I don't like putting tweeters in the sail panels like you suggest... I know a lot of people do it, but when you place drivers of the same channel far away from each other, that can cause problems. Also, with the tweeter in the sail, one will be much closer to you than the other and louder, that's not good either.
