i wanna hear something like that, can you actually hear a difference with it flared?

No. It does decrease air velocity at the port opening though.

decreased air velosity= quieter port

nice....terminal placement kinda odd IMO, but i guess that is for a specific application purpose...

the port covers the whole bottom of the box
and this box is up firing..the terminal cup will be facing the
back of the seat....so it will not be visible in this install

that's what i figured after posting...looks solid...def has that thumper look to it...

nice build

I know that but with over 30 inches of port already, you're not going to notice any port noise anyways. I had my sub in 2.2 cubes tuned to 32 with 30 inches^2 of port and got no noise at all with no flare at all. The same sub in 1.5 cubes tuned to 30 with 20 inches^2 of port with a flare also had no noise. With the flare, I could use less port area and still have no noise. In either case, I couldn't hear any port noise. Did the flare help? Sure... would it have made a difference on my other enclosure? Nope.

my enclosure software has a very acurate air velosity
gage for designing the ports...

I keep the velosity below 4%..the really low stuff
comes thru very quietly..very impressive to those
who are extreamly picky with sound quality....

this scale is in percentage of MACH

And that has what to do with the flare changing the sound? You had a sufficient amount of port area to begin with; the flare really is not changing the sound enough to notice it, I don't care how picky somebody is.

Does it look great? Yes, it does. Would it make things sound different? Not when you already have enough port area to get rid of any audible port noise.

who said anything about a flare changing the sound?
the flare is just for looks...I was talking port area not about the flare

Nope, it shouldn't. I wonder if adding vanes inside the port at the bend would decrease turbulence though...

All the test I have done with flaird ports shone a increase in dbs on term I have gained .4 with a doubled flair port it has a flair on the inside and outside of the box. Want do you think the flair on a airo port is for if the flair did not matter spl people would only use staight pvc pipes.
