The yamaha speaker will probably sound better. Heard the Onkyo a while back sound good. Which is cheaper. I ran a yamaha rec., it was awsome. A Oknyo replaced it and I like it better. But these are package systems and I would think the yamaha speakers will sound better.

IIRC Onkyo and Bose are butt buddies.... SO you might not be getting much more than nock off super cheap Bose wanna be drivers with the Onkyo system...

But, aren't the even sold in the Bose stores...

I am not saying anything about the Onkyo Receiver. They build a decent entry level product. I am just saying I would trust their speakers to be a paper weight.

I dunno I haven't been in a bose store for years, and yes I'd never run their speakers eiher, but I love my reciever.

OH snap. must we come to name calling so soon?

BTW: I don't demo all in one units, but for what it is worth, I have loved the 3 years of using my Yamaha Receiver. It's options and power are top notch.

OK generally I agree with B&W EE and Beast. I guess in a way I still do.
Had Yamaha rec and speakers before it was awsome. +1
Now have OnKyo it is awsome. +1
Still Have a sony in the garage its almost 8 yrs old still works great, not even close to the Yamaha or Onkyo.+.5
Had a Pioneer it ****** balls.-1
My Polk home speakers kick the **** out of my Yamahs but they **** well better for what I spent on them.+1

Yamaha wins because they made my freq banshee and it rocks.

Friend has a little cheaper Yammaha surround sound setup and it sounds nice, but my parents just bought Onkyo's top of the line reciever and have mostly JBL and Klispch speakers and I would take that in a heartbeat, but just not the price tag, lol!

All of the higher end stuff from Denon, Onkyo, and Yamaha are going to be awesome products. But, there still are little things that set time apart from other receivers.
