My Physics teacher has a "Yamaha Natural Sound Stereo Receiver RX-550" in his classroom and asked if I could help fix it.
One of the channels for the speakers doesn't work (left I believe) and each channel has 2 sets of outputs, neither work on the left side. The ride side seems to have a small piece of metal connecting the top and bottom (on the inside) but the left doesn't have that thing...
The radio tuner doesn't work at all...it will turn on but won't recieve ANY channels at all....dunno
any help is appreciated!
Thanks

Amp is probably bad... :fyi:
Also, does it have an antenna hooked to the radio side???

IDK I would think that it would just be that metal thing...I'll try to get some pix...

Is the 'metal' thing on the inside or the outside???
Make sure the antenna is getting a good connection and is in a location where it is not isolated (like in a concrete building).

inside
and the antenna isn't the problem, it's connected good and we've gotten signals with it before, it's right on a window.

Well.... That is odd...
Unless someone opened up the lid and took that out it should still be in there... It didn't fall out...
Nothing looks burnt or damaged either. How old is the receiver?

It is sort of hard to diagnose a problem with pictures and the internet... :fyi:
