It is not on the market yet. One thing that is dfferent about the Excelon's is the display. They are just beautiful. I guess we will just have to wait.

I don't know about the KDX-991 but the KDC-X991 has not hit the market yet.
If memory serves it is slated for a July release.

The signal processing in it is supposed to be enhanced over what was offered in the KDC-X990.
The USB input is 2.0 offering faster transfers.
It has complete iPod control and I do not know if the previous year's models had that.
It has 512mb of internal memory with the ability to rip tracks directly from the CD you are playing (1x rip speed to .wma file format)
The time alignment has been improved to an independent 5 channel adjustment availability.

There are probably a few other tweaks as well that aren't mentioned in the press data. :fyi:

On paper, anyway, looks to be a pretty impressive deck. :)

I'm waiting for one to replace my Blaupunkt Memphis. It turns out that there are a lot of differences in how HU's control large libraries of music.

Cool. This expensive Blaupunkt has a really bad S/N ratio, and does not work with playlists properly (despite being advertised). July seems so far away...

My last Kenny sounded great.

Here's the little blurb I posted over at TalkAudio titled, "Kenwood KDC-X991 The Ultimate HU?":
