I have found these comp sets and my price range is around 150 and 225 would be the most willing to spend. I want a set of compents(6.5") that can play from around maybe 40+hz(this is only me guessing)
what do you guys think about these or can you suggest anything better

40hz? Why the hell do you want to run it all the way down to 40hz? Without looking at any of those you are gonna get 60hz (from the passive crossover most likely or higher most probably) if you are lucky with minimal power (60wRMS or so) your best bet would be to cross them @ 80hz or even 100hz if you want to really push power to them. 40hz is sub-bass. My old CL-61 set (http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1088) is passed @ around 60hz and it doesn't really like much power @ that setting.. If I cross them @80hz I can run up to 120wRMS fine.

I just put 2 sets of kicker RS 6.5's in my ride...1 set per front door...
And the midbass on these are amazing off of a ZX350.2
I'm impressed by them.

BTW, woofersetc.com has been sending people CL-61A's when you order the CL-S60A. And you get the 24mm, TW-24 tweeter as well.

okay change the 40 hz to around 60

with most off the shelf component sets, you arent going to get much, if any authority at 60hz, even 80hz off a MIDRANGE.

if you want that, you need a dedicated midbass. and a midbass is designed to play more like 125~150hz, not 40~60 anyway.

what about the cdt m6

Fixxer

I'm not sure what power the M6 takes at 60-80hz but I know @100hz you can put 250wRMS a side. I'm gonna have mine @ 80hz with about 120wRMS on them. A team mate has them doing mid-bass duty and he says they are crazy, so I can't wait to try them out for mid-range.

I will add another to the mix. The pg rsd comps. Ide bet money that it would give them all a run for the money, and surpass ;) That would be my vote for a cheap comp set, but high end sound.

I like the Quarts in that price range, but the Crystals' will potentially play lower.... they have more excursion. MTX TXC6.1 also have high excursion mids.

oops. never mind. I was going to reccomend some Pioneer Premier 720-prs components but they are a bit out of your price range.

My whole front component set would be over $1000 retail, but if you just got the M6's and a simple crossover with Drt-26 tweeters or something I think you would be more then impressed.

IIRC. . . . ED drivers were made by CDT or if not by. . . it was a copycat of the CDT driver.

The crossover and driver I'm pretty sure is done by CDT for eD.. The crossover says CDT on it but I'm not quite sure which one it is. I think it's the 456satnet (Maybe the 480). The mids are HD-6's I think.

Have you owned CDT before? I don't think any sets sound muddy... The ones I've had are tight and reproduce the music very well. It all comes down to your source. With higher end components you notice imperfections really fast.
I haven't had a chance to hear my set yet, (M6 mids, braxial upgrade kit, drt-26 modular set, TW-19 image tweeters, ES-200US crossovers) but I can't wait. Like I said, I have a team mate using the M6 as a midbass and he loves it. He's thinking about switching out his 2 sets of eD 6500's and going all M6 drivers.

Here is a review on the CDT site if you haven't read it.

if you really want to save money on cdt speakers, go to the source! Buy some vifa mg speakers (eurosport) and run active. That or use the higher line vifa pl series.

That's an excellent recommendation from the reviews I've read. They could be had for ~$250.
