Ok the 4th annual import faceoff tuner show is coming back to Red River Raceway on March 25, 2006. I would like to get a little meet together. There will be a Double Point USACi show there as well too. Usually a good turn out. 50 or so SPL vehicles show up. Prices vary, but I believe its $35.00 to enter into the competition, and $10.00 for a fun SPL run, just to get metered.

There is some word that Bigbassman "Loyd L" and lilmaniac "Chad Hicks" might come down and compete in the SPL comp. Long drive, so I understand if they don't make it. But would be cool to see teh Aveo.

As far as location...its at Red River Raceway in Gilliam Louisiana. approx. ~20 minutes north of Shreveport LA.

Its always suprisingly a great show. Not that many ricers either. Just alot of solid tuner cars, and usually a few street class dragsters. They did some drifting last year, which was pretty neat to watch.

Have to wait to see which USACi director does the show...Usually its Darville, and he runs a pretty quick show, not alot of down time with him, unlike some other directors. this will be the 4th year I've been. And everyyear its getting better.

I'll bring my dads truck with the 5.3v6...or you could race jntar with his 5.3

bibby

jntar have the 5.3 v6, or v8.

I just want a run or two down the track to open mine up. I'm a little scared though. I had a s10 with a speedo that only went to 85, and i got it to over 100, and it stuck, then eventually came back down, and wouldnt work after that.

Mir, should be about 3hours from Dallas.

Not sure what classes I'll be running at this show. Kinda going to be in a hard place. Sub I'll be running isnt exactly the best sub for streetbeat because of lack of cooling. I'll more than likely run ss 0-600 for sure. Gotta get some recones though :crap:

My truck is gutted right now...:hilariou: I'll be ready. Batteries and buss bars are getting ordered monday. wire will be here next thursday or so.

Chevyaudio

MT is going in a way different box than the BTL im going to try and build an upfiring box for my single cab, and still have it driveable.

gotta stay USACi Legal.

If you were sitting at the intersection where this specific sign is found. (I had to look closer when I realized the sign in the background was for I-49) you would be <30 minutes from the racetrack where the deal is. :fyi:

Actually that pic is at the intersection of Southern and Stoner avenues right by the place that puts the cop radios in SPD's units (can't recall the name of the place right offhand but everytime you ride by there the parking lot is full of cop cars.....right over the bridge from the police station)

we ought to all locate a hotel and try to get a group rate.:naughty:

Chevyaudio
03-05-2007, 08:18 PM
Depends on what you want...

If you are "of age" you cannot beat the casinos in shreveport...they are the best ones in the area. Weekend rates in march wouldnt be bad. If you don't want to spend all that much. There are some good Comfort inns, and you know chain hotels that are new, and would be cheap too..

If you stay the night, I will help you find a place. My place would be free...but the gas you would burn to get to my house, would be about as much as a hotel room. lol

aaronmiiller
03-10-2007, 10:55 PM
Ya definately put me down for coming dude. This will be my first usaci show, so dont expect much heat from me LOL. I do alot of smaller competitions in the area mainly. I hope the numbers at shreveport are a little better in stock 0-600 than they were in south padre. Didnt look like alot of people were hitting very big numbers to me. 1st 2nd and 3rd did pretty good but after that it just went downhill FAST! I just hope i can run 0-600, im running a solid audio 2500d and nobody can give me a clear cut answer on if its acceptable in 0-600. Ampguts shows the 4ohm rating to be 1200, but i KNOW thats wrong! Anybody on here think they can help me out? USACI guys appearantly dont know LOL!

Chevyaudio
03-11-2007, 02:35 PM
I'll look it up for you man.

Chevyaudio
03-11-2007, 06:21 PM
Seems to me you are in a unique situation, aaron. I looked a few places and they werent rated. Now what I did find is that your amp contains the same board as the AB-xd3000. Previously USACi rated that amp at 600watts @ 4 ohms. BUT now that amp is in an unlimited class, because aparently you can adjust the output on them with a simple mod.

At the show in Shreveport, If you ran Super Stock 0-600 no one would make a big deal out of it. But If you plan on competing regularly, I would definatly call USACi or whatever organization you are in to get further clarification.

Canaan
03-11-2007, 06:33 PM
Arron,

They will most likely stick you in 601-1800.

2500 / 4 = 625...and that would the absolute lowest 4ohm rating Usaci would allow on your Solid Audio amp.

This should be a great show!

I just rebuilt, but havnt got a chance to hook my meter up though...My new box sounds promising, I just need to reposition my amps.

I'm still gonna get my @$$ handed to me by Matt.

If I squeeze 151 out of this box...i'll will be happy enough. (Hope my batt comes in :()

Who else is running SB2 and/of Mod0-1000?

Chevyaudio
03-11-2007, 08:10 PM
I may do Mod 0-1000...I havent decided yet. If I feel like bringing the Socket wrenches, I may pull out the passenger seat for Mod. who knows.

aaronmiiller
03-11-2007, 08:17 PM
Thanks for the info chevy, and canaan!!! Much appreciated, im kind of leaning twords cannan's thinking on this one though, im believeing they will definately stick me in stock 601-1800, but the question is, will they rate me at 1200 watts, or 625??? I have two of these amps i could strap if needed!!! Yet at the same time, im also in believe that nobody would say anything if i ran in 0-600, im not planning on taking 1st or even placing to be honest. I think when i get there they will start looking up info and either find 1200 watts or nothing at all and stick me with 625 watts. We will see, thanks again guys, i owe you one!

Chevyaudio
03-11-2007, 08:20 PM
They would give you the 625 probably. Darville is going to be the judge at this more thank likely...Just tell him that you have a 2500 watt amp, and he will divide it down to 625.

aaronmiiller
03-11-2007, 08:36 PM
Ok man, will do! So you think i should run the second amp too? I know my subs can handle it easily, but will my electrical system? I will have 1 kinetik 2400 in the back and im running a second run of 0 gauge this week. My battery up front is a nice new one thats 1000 CA and 800 CCA.

Chevyaudio
03-11-2007, 09:17 PM
Well you would be limited to your Stock battery +1 in that class any way...you should be fine on a burp.

Ive got another couple guys i know coming from up my way, not including 3 or so other individuals i know going that are pretty big competitors, that dont get on these forums. Is there a hooters in shreveport? How about in texarakana? Anyone know?

Chevyaudio
03-14-2007, 05:59 PM
There is a hooters in Shreveport...well bossier city, but they are just accross the river from each other...

Chevyaudio
03-14-2007, 06:13 PM
So if yall want to we can hit up the hooters after the show and hang out...and those that are of age can get some drinks, and then go gamble later at one of the Shreveport/Bossier City Casinos :naughty:

as far as location goes, it would be only out of the way for you Arkansas people. About a 20minute drive into the shreveport area (the show is in the middle of no where)

And I assume that those of you who are coming from north arkansas are already going to get a Hotel room, "unless you like to drive" So it wouldn't be out of your way at all...

Shreveport isn't a bad place to spend some time either...lots of great stuff to do at night.

I think I fv<ked up my sub...:(

Both coils are reading 1.4ohm...they are supposed to 0.7....I got hard on it today and it really started to smell. I pulled the sub and tested the coils.

Funny thing is, it is still doing the same #'s that is did before it smelled????
I cant remember if i checked the coils b4 i reconed the sub...maybe DD sent me d1.4's instead of d.7's.

I mean...what are the odds of messing up a sub and BOTH coils read the same DCR afterward, sub still plays, and you still do the same #'s??????

Anyways...the amp is seeing .7ohm right now.

just put the equalizer in, and it's all pretty.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y13/goatboy_521/03-18-07_1905.jpg

So far, the system is sounding better than ever. Got the gains set correctly (finally), and I noobishly decided to put in a ground loop isolator. I was as tired as hell of the engine noise, so I just cheated by using a GLI. And it's gotten rid of 97% of engine noise... you can hear it veerrrry faintly if you listen hard with the volume down. i'm happy.

This summer I've gotta make a false floor for the stow 'n go, though. Theres a hump that goes down the middle of it that messes everything up. Other than that, everything's locked, cocked and ready to rock :D

Chevyaudio
03-18-2007, 09:23 PM
Why don't you do SQ at the comp next weekend?

jmanpc
03-19-2007, 12:50 AM
They're doing sq?

I may or may not... I'd have to see what i'm up against. I know SQ can be pretty tricky. The thing that worries me is that I've heard some good sounding systems, and mine is the best I've heard; however, I've never heard an all-out SQ install. Therefore, I don't know exactly what a great SQ setup should sound like.

jmanpc
03-19-2007, 01:05 AM
I just read up on the rules, and I suspect I'd get pwnt on the install portion of the SQ comp. Sure, my install is clean, but a judge would rip it to shreds on the score card.

This summer I plan on building a false floor, which will be very clean and will definately get me brownie points when it comes to judging, but for now, everything looks haphazardly thrown in compared to the install I could have.

One of the things I like most about my install, though, is the fact that it looks very stock, aside from the head unit. No amps are showing because they are hidden in the Stow-N-Go compartment, and my tweets are flushed into the a-pillars, and look like they're supposed to be there. The subwoofer only protrudes about 10" above the floor, thanks to the Stow-N-Go. The Caravan is the perfect platform for a **** install.

But this summer, I think I'm going to do a complete reinstall. I'm going to get paint to match the exterior of the car, and paint dash trim pieces to match the outside of the car. I'm going to run all new wires, build the false floor, get lots of split loom for the power wire and big 3 wire, get replacement a-pillars for the van, and reinstall the tweets a bit higher (one touches the gauge cluster hump), put in a second battery somehow in the back.... I'm lookin at an HC800 because of it's compact size, maybe a pair of HC600's.

Louisiana_CRX
03-19-2007, 07:32 AM
Well I got the wiring under the hood completed....:) My mids and highs amps is playing...I hope my new door midbass arrive this week  And This week I'm hoping to get the radio in the dash and the isolater hooked up...and all the sub box together...I had to kick my ole lady out so I can work late and not listen to b!tchen...lol

There is an SQ class that is NOT install based...its called "Q"

:fyi:

And dave you sound like you are about where I'm at. My electrical is "done" and my mids and highs are playing, thats it. :(

jmanpc
03-19-2007, 12:53 PM
Well in that case, I'll look into the Q competition. Again, I'm not sure how a true SQ system is supposed to sound, but to my ears, it sounds darn good. Again, do you have to use their CD or do you have to bring your own?

Chevyaudio
03-19-2007, 12:55 PM
If you ask justin Nice enough, he may bring the RTA.

jmanpc
03-19-2007, 01:01 PM
I just read over the score sheet... ought to be... interesting to see how mine will do. I've still got a couple rattling gremlins to work out in the door panels, and I have a hair of engine noise. As far as staging goes, it's pretty good, thanks to the location of the mids and tweets in the dash. The width is so-so.... doesn't really extend beyond the a-pillars. The balance is okay, again thanks to the position of the speakers. I have to rely heavily on the time alignment. I think the imaging is good, could be better, but its good.

I'll just have to see what I'm up against. If some hood ninjas show up with 8 coaxes in each door, and want to do Q, I'll pwn em. But if I'm up against people with nice-*** fiberglassed custom installs made for SQ, I might just watch.

Johnny Drama
03-19-2007, 01:47 PM
When you get there I can tell you if you should compete or not. I know most of the SQ people in the area that would show.

Consumer Q would probly be your best bet, unless someone that is setup for Q shows. I will be there, but I wont be running.

For anyone that wants to test or tune before the show we will have the TL and RTA there for use. Just come up and ask.

Jman, when you see me get there or when you come across me get with me and I can jump in your car and give you a quick run down of how I feel you would do. In other news, I got up to a 144.8 on Justin's TL. I don't know why I haven't been able to break 143.7 all week here. That would've been enough to take Stock 0-600. Kinda wish I had done that.

So my roomate lives in Gilmer, Texas, which is over by Texarkana somewhere. So he went home this weekend to hang out with the family and his friends, and work on planning an elk hunting trip. He lest at about 1 this afternoon to head home, and stopped in some other town to see some relatives. Anyhow, to make a long story short, he ends up broken down in Malvern, off I-30.

I was on my way home , and as I was going through Hope, Ar, he called me and told me he was broken down in Malvern... about 20 minutes from me! So he had to leave his truck with some guy named Larry and do some other stuff, and then I drove him home.

Huge coincedence, though. Whodda thunk that we'd be in the same area at the same time?
