I am planning to upgrade my factory head unit, and eventually everything else in the audio system.
I have pretty much narrowed it down to these 3 HU's (however, if you think theres a better one in the same price range, please elaborate)

Alpine CDE-9881 / CDE 9852

Premier DEH-P490IB

The most important thing for me is sound quality (of course) and ease of use while connecting an ipod.

The Alpine, has the quick search feature which interests me, but however only has one line of info, needing to press the button on the side to scroll

The premier has two lines but i don't know how fast it scrolls and how easy it is to find the song you want.

I am thinking the sound quality is about the same for the 2 also.

Anyone who has used both of these or know anything about these head units, or others that i should look into?

All help wouldn't be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Also if it helps, my car is an 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (Stock System, not Boston Acoustic system)

i was always a fan of alpine, especially for SQ purposes, but i think their quality is declining too much on the last years... i have only played with 490 buttons and i think it's buttons feels much better than most hu's i've ever messed with... but i can't say much about the sound quality from it...
