Im just wondering which one is good.
i also want to know which one has a crossover build in, if one day i wanna go active i can use that.

Just over all which one is better, and has the best Nav system.

I am currently saving up to pick up the Eclipse AVN6610 b/c

- has dual DVD slots to watch DVD and run Navi at the same time (if not needed get the AVN5510/5500 with one CD and one DVD)
- Eclipse is said to have the best Navi features with others in the same category
- great looking display
- Bluetooth add-on feature
- Overall best subjective SQ double-din Navi combo

I dont there are any double-din navi with built in DSP to run active completely...for that there is the Alpine W200/H701 combo and Eclipse AVN7000 w/ DSP processor and I believe there is a Clarion combo that can do it also. I will be running the Eclipse AVN6610 with an external DSP to deal with active duties. Hope this helps and if I have misinformed the OP, then please correct me :)

I think that kenwoods nav system is made by garmin, in my book that puts them way ahead of the competition in the nav system. I have a regular excelon deck and could not be happier with it. Excellent sound and build quality.

IIRC Eclipse utilizes TomTom which is also a reputable navigation company....Eclipse (Fujitsu Ten) also is the OEM for the Lexus/Toyota group which would also included their navigation packages. Im not trying to put down Kenwood by any means but just explaining why im going with Eclipse. It also happens that I have a Toyota Celica in which the AVN6610 is just plug-in-play into the OEM harness with addition to the speed sensor and GPS antenna connection :)

BTW i think the Eclipse AVN 5510 would be a better fit for you and cheaper too

That choice would be up to you :) The Eclipse AVN6610 is a better fit for my system and car. Good luck with whatever you decide to go with.

I am going to get the 6610 or the 5510.

Leanig toward the 6610 for two reasons . . .
it has 2 dvd slots so you can play a movie and navigation at the same time.
and the Circle Surround II feature. How cool is that for watching movies in the car!?

I have the AVN 2454 in my Scion TC. Only problem is the navigation is a little dated, something the '07 5510 and 6610 will take care of. Other than that, the Eclipse is a great all around unit.

I am planning a whole system for my '01 Dodge dually. Gonna have to custom fiberglass the dash to hold the double din. Custom center console to hold a sub or two and two 10s under the rear seat.

What do think of this set-up?
Avn 6610 HU
4 10" Elemental Design 11Ov.2
Arc Audio Foose components
Massive Audio 1500.1

i just put in a kenwood ddx-8017 with the garmin nav (kna-g510), it's great

the nav data is on a solid state, no moving parts (dvd) or hdd to worry about; the routing and re-routing calculation is "lightning" fast and the map graphic is nice too

whats the main difference between the 5510 and the 6610??
what is the price difference???
any inprovement in SQ from 5510 to 6610?
and what is the improvement from 5500 to 5510?
its just that i dont want to spend extra money on things i will never use.

the thing that i dont realy need are
1) i dont realy care about watching DVD in the car.
2) i can live without have a Ipod in the car.

I have the 6019/Nav combo and it's great. The Garmin nav is excellent. The eq you refer to is a three band parametric eq. At least I think is parametric, but it may be quasi-parametric. I haven't messed with it yet.

Kenwood P-NAV6019 has something called
System E's+ Advanced Crossover system
does anyone know what that is??

It is Kenwood's name for their internal crossover network - independently adjustable high-pass crossovers for the front and rear outputs (affects both RCA Preamp outputs as well as speaker outputs) and an adjustable low-pass crossover for the sub preouts with level control.

it's already been discussed in this thread by the first guy that replied to you...but in a nutshell

1) avn6610 has dual dvd slots...avn5510 has one cd and one dvd (for nav disc or movie dvd..either or)
2) NO sound improvement unless you call circle surround and dsp's sound improvement
3) refer to 1)

based on your criteria just get the avn5510.

AND ABSOLUTELY PURCHASE THIS UNIT FROM 6spdcoupe. Why would you not want a 3year warranty??
