Is there a general spec or recommendation when it comes to how long you should give a set of components time to break in? Specifically, the Crystals? I'm going to be installing a brand new pair this weekend.
Also, during the break in period, how low should the volume be kept on them? I don't want to turn it up too loud and damage the woofer/tweeter before they are properly broken in.

People say breaking in woofers is a myth. Some dont. Dont play to the level that would hurt your ears, i would say.
I've owned many speakers and for each set I've had the break in time still lasted around two or three months. Every here and there I just notice that i can keep increasing the volume to levels beyond what used to sound distorted.

LOL Thanks fellas! So I guess "break in times" for speakers is just BS, then.
I'll just keep them at a decent, but not too loud listening volume for a couple of months, then.
Expo5.0, thanks for the valuable input, but my ears are already broken in. :*******:

It might be BS but to me my SSCS sounded better after about 2 weeks than they did when first installed.

Mine sounded better after a period of time as well. They sound amazing after installing and tuning my 880PRS.

Or after two weeks, you became much more used to their sound.
So was it the speakers that changed....or you.... ?
;)
Just food for thought.
