Is the aux input on the faceplate, or do you have to have the faceplate in the "cd loading" position to access the aux input? Thanks alot.

Its on the faceplate, on the underside of the thick face. It's only a 2.5mm plug though.

Thanks. 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter won't degrage sound quality, correct?
Most of my mp3s are 320kbps but I'm sure there would be a neglible change to the sound.

Pioneer 880s aux input is a 2.5 mm jack. Most mp3 players use the 3.5mm headphone jack. There for you need a adapter or a 2.5mm to 3.5mm cord.

Why don't you just burn mp3 discs? It looks retarded having he deck open like that.

im pretty sure you can use it for any mp3 player... i used the aux input on a HU to my iPod and it worked well, the only downside is you cant use the hu to scroll through the ipod's directory... i guess thats where the iPod interface comes in

WTF. I thought it just plugs into the front. Why does the deck have to be open.
Are you saying you have to put the deck into the cd-loading position?

the aux input is on the front of the faceplate, but its on the bottom
i read the mannual and when you use the Microphone for the TA & Auto EQ its being used while its in the open position... it wont close, if you try to close it theres a warning beep to remove the jack out of the aux input... im thinking this goes for anything being used in aux

it depends on your install.
if you have it flushmounted, then it has to be in the cd loading position.
if not, if it sticks out a little, then i think it just fits.
