BTW, its a textured paint called Hammered Paint. Its really cool stuff. I cant WAIT to see the final product. Chris did the design work and came up with the game plan. Its one hell of a cool looking design.

Looks awsome as always, bj.

I got a decent router for Christmas, and I'm going to pick up a roundover bit. I looks like you round the edges prior to assembley (exterior edges I mean, not just the port walls.) Is this the case? Any tips to getting perfect rounded edges or should it be fairly straight forward?

I only roundover the port walls prior to assembly (usually) this design is a little different.
As far as tips go, just take the time to set the correct depth of your router by practicing on a scrap piece, not your box.

Yea it went on just fine. I applied it with a roller, and it looked very cool. Glad you introduced me to this paint :p:

Long story made short....

Within a span of 2 weeks, I had more than 50% of my tools shoot crap on me, and had 2 kids in the hospital.

Me = no cash to replace all the tools that broke, but never got around to building my OWN box. :) Enter B.J......

Curious? The paint is textured?? Wouldn't you want the inside wall's and port to have a smoothness to them?? Im my mind, sound would travel a lot better down a nice and smooth port, rather then one with a texture to it. Just cerious???

Jon

It's textured, yes, but not like bedliner type texture, it's still really smooth. Shouldn't affect the airwaves at all...

I'll definitely be able to give my opinion on the difference, but unfortunately I never got the BP metered, so I won't be able to compare with numbers.

It actually models up louder than the BP until 70Hz though, not taking cabin gain in to effect.

I believe its overspray that went through the sub cut outs, and into the port and around. It just wiped off, (as you can see the front was wiped off) I just didnt want to reach all the way in the back of the box and get my sleeve in the wet paint. Nothing to worry about.

Here ya go guys... I didn't permanently mount them yet because I haven't decided whether to invert the outer 2 yet or not... if I do then I will be putting a set of binding posts on each baffle... but if not I'd rather not have them on there :)

Crappy pics, I know, but I'll get better ones, and some vids too, once everything gets put in the car.

Will do ;)

Wanted to add that the packaging was very, very good. Box arrived in perfect condition, though it took me about an hour to clean up all the shredded paper LOL

Good job again BJ :toast:

I like them all mounted regular. not inverted.

Yeah, the original plan was to invert the outer 2, but after getting the box here and dropping the subs in, I think mounting them all regular looks nicer, and fits better with the design of the box.
