Not bad man for the first try.. not bad at all. Carpeting looks good.

Personally, I wouldn't have used screws, or atleast painted the screws black/bought black screws. Maybe adhesive or glue next time?

I wouldnt have used a capacitor either, but the space for it looks nice.

Looks pretty good. Only thing I didn't like was being able to see the screws.

Should screw it down first, and then put the carpet over it.

carpet like that should be streachy enough to pull in over teh corners. you just have to work it, did you even glue that area?

and you can still save the screws through the carpet. take a screw out, make a slit over the screw hole, then peel the carpet back a little to expose the wood, put teh screw back in, then fold back the carpet over the screw head.

in teh corners, dont make such a deep cut like you did. make it less and streach it in it.

First time is always the hardest. The next thing you build and carpet will turn out better. Then the next, better yet. I also vote for "good job" on your first carpeting attempt.
As a side note, to keep from seeing the screws, just be sure to assemble the piece as much as you can, i.e. in a sub enclosure, everything but the sub and terminals or binding posts. That way, you can hide 99.9% of mechanical fasteners with the carpet. The two biggest reasons a lot of us carpet are 1. Hide the screws and 2. Hide the bare wood.
All in all, great job. Keep it up!

I sooooo know the feeling....especially when it's the last piece you need....or a certain part that you can't do anything else until you get...

i find the best thing you can do in the meantime is get your work area insanely organized. I'm certain that anyone you live with won't complain....after all you're officially cleaning

x2. Just ordered some components, an amp, wiring, and some other stuff this afternoon. Lol, and it's like, "What, it's not here yet?!" Good luck with the install when you get the hardware!
