How do u figure the inside cubic feet of a 12x12 box?...
That is 3/4 thick with carpet

Well, you need a 3rd dimension.
those two would be internal dimensions of 11.25 x 11.25 ... whats the third dimension ?

12x12x??
Volume = HxWxL
we need one more dimension

Wht would be the 3rd?
Spkr. Displacement?

have u taken math before??
Volume = Height x Width x Length

Length x width x height minus wood thickness divided by 1728 = how many cubes you have internally.

Height 12 inch
Width 12 inch
Length 12 inch

i get .67, anyone else?
Mitch86

That should be correct.
But, I think it's better that the original poster learns to do this himself.

10.5 ^3 = 1157 / 1728 .669 cubic feet.
I always ****ing forget to double the outside walls.

true so heres what i did:
12x12x12 is your outside dimensions
because you have 3/4" wood, you need to acount for that, so subtract 1.5" from each side and thats the internals
now multiply those and divide by 1728, how many cubic inches are in a cubic foot.
that gets u your volume

instead of editing, i will just say i am an idiot! lol, same as ultimate. double walls

11.25 ^ 3 = 1423 / 1728 = .8239 before woofer displacement.
dont u have to subtract 1.5 from each dim because each side has 3/4" of wood on it :eyebrow:

That's what I was thinking also.

Edited. I'm very good at math however I ALWAYS make stupid, easy mistakes.

Same here ... History is so ******* boring.

Anyway, Length x height x width minus wood thickness (which is 1.5 for 2 pieces.) divided by 1728 equals your internal volume.

To the OP, this is your final, correct answer. Since we seem to not be feelin the math today, lol!
10.5 x 10.5 x 10.5 = 1157.625 / 1728 = 0.67

Most modern 10" car audio subs will work favorably in a sealed enclosure of that size.
