I have it hooked up via optical.

Is there anyway I could control it without buying something like the logitech dj system?

I can't think of any programs that let me do it to my knowledge.

thats a big negative.

eaither get a home theatre pc (small pc with windows xp media edition or whatever) or get a computer remote. that would be your best bet.

Why don't you do like the rest of us and make a play list and burn it to a CD. Or even better just get up and change the song.....

Well I have tons of playlists setup and everything like that.

I was just wondering because with paties for example, other people are hitting the receiver remote wondering why it wont change track.

Word. I have NEVER liked the xbox as a gaming console, no offense, but it does work very well as a media server. We watch TV episodes and movies off other computers on the network with it :up2somet:

i'm not even a gamer and i have two of them and i havent even thought about going back to a htpc

one in the bedroom with the basic 8gb hard drive to stream movies, music, tv shows and ****;)

one in the home theater with a 250gb hard drive to do all that, but it also has 100 games on it which i never play

you can buy a wireless adapter for them, but i think it is about $80 and i am not sure how well it would work for streaming high bitrates
