I plan to stuff the bracket mounts under slits in the carpet and leave only the mounting screws showing.
The Rf T3002 doesn't fit where i wanted it. i have a JL 500/1 in the mail to replace it. (If any of you want the t3002 i'm open to offers.)

lookin good man!!! you should have gotten the H701 processor and gotten rid of all the crossover stuffs :D

I like the fact that you used the fans (hopefully ball bearing?) to circulate air internal to the amps. I have seen many people not do this and wonder why their amps go into protection due to heat.
Looks great, got any pictures of it installed?

the original design called for a 4" cathode on the top center. the cathode broke so i had to order a new one. it arrived today and i quickly installed it (didn't have time for much anything else but for the 30 seconds of splicing, it was the most satisfying enjoyment/time ratio i've had so far.
here's a comparison pic:
without:
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c200/radioflyer1986/lights4.jpg
with the new cathode:
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c200/radioflyer1986/alllights3.jpg
and with the lid down:
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c200/radioflyer1986/alllights2.jpg
it makes the Crossovers easier to see.
I also got a set of locking latches, spring hinges and metal corners i plan to install wednesday. More pics to come

Thanks for making it easy for me to steal, lol. I'm just kidding, I'm quite sure you have a way to secure that setup.
It's beautiful. Honeslty, that's the best amp rack I've ever seen. Makes me feel like complete crap for screwing my amps into a piece of wood and bolting that to the frame. I like how the fans were implemented as well. You've given me alot of inspiration. I can't wait until I have a reason to do that one day.

While they ay be visible, the sheer construction of the amp rack will make stealing any part of it a total pain. The lid will have double locking latches. While you could take apart the amp rack in it's position, it weighs a good 50+ pounds fully assembled. It will be firmly bolted to a fals floor (glued to the floor)
while it's not completely theft proof (and nothing is) it does have it's theft detterent features....which will include a dirty towel with a radioactive symbol just for kicks

Nice Work.
How long did the build take?
Radioflyer97
01-23-2007, 04:53 PM
i started initial design in late november. at this time i was in school and worked so i didn't have much time for construction.
Trial construction (built out of masonboard as a templete) was completed by the start of January.
Construction was delayed when my father had an accident at work and i had to take over the responsibilties of the family furniture business. Thankfully, the shop where I worked on the amp rack was the warehouse behind the showroom.
My dad is still recovering but he runs the store and I can work in the back.
i'd say total man hours to design, shop for parts, build, assemble, carpet, and wire was about 60-70 man hours.
