I just installed my Mach 5 Audio MAW-12 and a Dayton 240w plate amp. It hits pretty dang hard, easily as hard as it did in the van. Pics later when I get the camera.

Nice, what is the amp receiving the signal from? Stereo...receiver...computer? I want to do the same but hook it directly to my computer

Those speakers sound like ****... Get some real ones not some garage sale specials. And, a 12" in a 4th order tuned in the 50's are you serious? Please tell me you are joking....

They sound just fine to me. My dad has had them since the 70's... no garage sale specials lol. Plus, I don't have hundreds (thousands :uhoh: ) to throw into some nice HT speakers. Also, 4th orders behave much differently than ported boxes. It'll hit the lows with a vengeance.

I can switch it between the CD player, turntable, computer or radio.

I'm guessing you are using a 4th order bandpass box... So what are you two chamber volumes?

Beats the hell out of me. I'm too lazy to calculate it. 80inches made the plans. I just built it. Honestly, though, in the van, the Mach 5 off 400w would hit the lows almost as hard as a 15" L7 off the X1.2000.1D in 4.5 @ 34.
