Anyone have any experience with the db650 and db690?

no but i heard numerous praises on there sr series components
i heard it incorporates the vifa tweeter, i think xt25 small version to be exact. i heard it has good off axis responce
and i heard the woofer with co ax ability aint bad either.
If u got some more cash i hit up the higher end set. but polk makes good detailed components, some are harsh to some people though

id stay away from their lower end comps, the new sr series are AMAZING. Try to hear them in a car though as soundboards just dont do them justice, you can pick them up for around 400 brand new on ebay.

i've installed the db series in my dad's truck. I think for the money they're great. Definatley not the best, but not the worst either.

They are pretty good, as long as you get sufficient power going to them. Running off a HU doesn't cut it IMHO. Haven't heard the SR yet, but the MOMO series sounded pretty good, too. I would imagine the SR's are awesome as well. Just depends on how much cash you wanna drop. MSRP is $900 on SR 6.5 according to Polk's website.

polk db speakers are nice but only really shine when you throw enough juice at em. Amp em up and you are golden.

Running db650 coax's in the GF's car and not very impressed. If I could do it over I'd never have bought them as I just don't like the sound they put out.
But YOU need to go out and demo some as your ears might like em......

DB's have had a bad rep for not having the midbass punch many like. As far as tweeters go, I find them nice on the DB's, and a tinge harsh on the MOMO series. Of course harshness is adjustable inside the crossover. I plan on the Polk MMC6500 for the front because they blew the Type-r's off of this planet in a side by side comparison I listened too.

THe polks sound really nice, with alot of tweaking. My buddy has type r's and i like the sound of mine better, easily. With proper door deadining the midmass is pretty good.
