I have had my single MT up to 151.7, I found that the MT likes a HUGE box for low tuning. My last box for 1 15' MT was 6.5 cubes tuned to 32 i belive and did a 147.3 at 30hz at the headrest.

Well as for DB drag my car loves a low note sealed at the dash, My single 15 box actually peaks at 27 at the dash and only like 1db down from the headrest. Ill be doing bassrace this year in the 49.9 class

the purple one was built under the window line :D

and well the other one... was fun lol. I had it like that for my daily for maybe a month living in a ghetto apt complex. In my defence though, imagine watching some crack head trying to run away with a 70lb MT  plus they werent mine :p:

you need some ports there Les...:)

PowerNaudio
01-07-2007, 01:47 PM
aero ports are better because you can use a smaller port because of the big radius on the ends and get away with less audible port noise, they also help with air flow, they have less air turbulence because of the big radius on the ends, they take up less space inside the enclosure too, because you can use a smaller port because of the big radius on the ends.
hum. thats all i can think of right now.

is the enclosure 9.8 cubes after or before the port displacement?

before displacement.
and the ports have an external diameter of 8.5" and you're using 5 ports. **** thats allot of port displacement.
have you calculated the port length yet?
are you going to have some of the port stick outside the enclosure?

its 6" PVC...not 8.5" pvc. the hole diameter that I cut on his box was 8.5".
he's not using 5 ports, he's using 4 ports.

oh ok, that changes the parameters of my equation by allot. lol
i was really scratching my head on this one.

what the outer port diameter of the ports if you dont mind me asking. im just trying to figure out this enclosure lol

In a big box tuned low they actually sound very good, Just dont put them in a small box cause then music will sound like ****.

I totally agree...I don't know why MT's have such a bad SQ rep...probably because they've been labeled as an SPL sub and yep SPL = NO SQ

Ok did a bit of testing tonight, but the box is far from done and i still need to add the 2nd amp!! Not really happy yet with the scores but its a start.

148.0 sealed at the dash 35hz and 34hz
148.0 on the headrest at 35hz.

It still has more in it i just need to get it all complete and installed
