hes got an explorer like mine, only a 92, but the interiors are identical basically.

so heres what he has/getting:

alpine 9856
my clarion mcd-360 3 way crossover
some kicker 2 channel amp, not sure, waiting on the model number

he wants basically a 6.5 in each door, and a tweet in each door. he wants it loud.

what ya got? aa poly mids im thinking maybe? will they work with this crossover well?

Id go with the AA poly mids. I bought mine for ~130 shipped. I have an orion 8004 for the set as well. its not installed so i cant give you a review. there are quite a few people who have had them though that can give you a better opinion.

Zaph's Site (http://zaphaudio.com/tweetermishmash/) might help you out on some tweeter selection.

wtf?

It's this tweeter. http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?cart_id=3187937.3132&pid=635
The Daytons(7") like a rather low x-over point 2kz minimum IMO. I liked 1.4-1.6khz. If you go with the polys it will generate more tweeter options because they can be crossed alot higher than the Daytons.

x2. But I've heard a lot of people having problems with tinsel slap and that the dayton has more mid-bass...

I'm still on the fence on which one to run in conjunction with this Seas tweet (http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?cart_id=4521723.27116&pid=2137).

I think that's what I'm going to do. I've already got the rs180-4's on the way and I'm leaning toward either the aluminum Seas neo or the Tang Band 25-1414SC.

I'm running 2 pair of the AA mids with NO tinsel slap, crossed at 70Hz and I crank them up plenty loud. There is a simple fix with a drop of Super Glue I believe to shorten them up.

if thats the case, imo AA should fix that crap before selling products.

It is enough of a reason there alone for me to not buy a set, lord knows I am collecting one of everything else though. You asked for loud, do you mean loud like your setup or just something with some output...

not loud like mine....he has a 15" 06 l7....he wants loud, but nothing like what mine will be...i think hes gonna buy the AA's but im not sure yet.
