I personally like the old school Sony Mobile ES CDX-C90. Pure copper chassis, 16V (I think) pre-amps, and one of the cleanest decks to ever be produced. As far as the sexiest, I don't know.

Hard to say between the Denon and the Nak...thats why I keep switching til I sell one or the other. But Nothing beats the feel of the analog volume on the Nak. :)

Don't get me wrong I like the Japanese unit better in terms of looks. But I have to say that the P9 does come close to it. It's just the black that makes the unit stand out a little more in the eyes of audiophiles.

The P9 is bascically the same principle as the ODR line except there are no amps in this line. It doesn't look clumsy, that Jensen link you posted looks very clumsy. And no, the P9 comes with a wireless infrared remote.

No. The ODR unit does not have any processing other than maybe bass and treble. It connects directly to the integrated amps via optical output or it connects to the stand alone processor like the P9 can. In fact, the ODR unit is worthless without a processor or ODR amp since it doesn't even have RCA preouts. The P9 on the other hand does have preamp out puts and an optical output. So basically the P9 can be used as a stand alone CD player with any amplifier or external processing via the RCA preouts or with the P9 processor via the optical output. So contrary to popular belief the P9 deck is NOT worthless by itself. It would just need external processing such as an outboard EQ and crossover with RCA ins and outs.

I don't think that one is XM ready if that means anything to you. But an XM tuner would still work via the P-bus. The deck would just call it "ext source" instead of an "xm tuner". But yeah, if the P9 came with either silver or black I would have definitely gone with the black one too. LOL:drool:

Those 4 pieces add up to more than $10,000. Thats pretty **** expensive for car audio but I'm assuming someone buys the stuff.

The 9255 is definitely a nice looking deck. It still seems a little busy to me. I mean I would definitely take the Denon decks over that one.

Never heard of abyss before, nice elegant look.

I actually like the Rockford unit but if I had one I would find a way to remove the Rockford label.

I can't really give too much props though seeing how it is made by Denon and resembles past and present Denon head units. So the props go to Denon, not Rockford.

It's ok at best...we had one in our booth car at ces the gunmetal G23..it's not all that to be honest...and the fit and finish is OK...one of the reasons why it never made it over here

I would have to respectfully disagree. Silver hides hides light dust. Not saying the black doesn't look good because yours looks awful nice but I tend to like the silver better. I think it goes with the illumination better. All in all I guess it would depned on the interior of the vehicle.

He didn't really say analog. He just said one that had a heavy "feel" like the 70s knobs had. Not necessarily analog like the 70s.

On a quick little side note: The knob on the P9 has a heavy feel.;)
