Probally gonna do about 4 cubes. Gonna use the 8" for this box, planning on going two seperate boxes with 2 4" aeros next. Thanks TommyK for the amp, and Lil_KB for the subs, good products. But for now, some pics to kick this off...

Yeah I had one in a box on two 187's before, but that was in a box put together in about half an hour, so hoping for better results. I had ordered 4 aeros from wanginloud, sent the money it got there, then he tells me he sold everything locally. Hopefully I see my money again, so I can get some aeros elsewhere.

They were pp ports. :crap:

Looks like nothing is going to get done today. Waking up late + work FTL. And New Years Eve. On my way to Lowes before work to pick up some more products. Have a Happy New Years everybody, updates tomorrow for sure.

Maybe vids too. :)

I've allways wanted to use a 8 inch port, i'm interested in how this turns out.

Finally got out of bed after New Years Eve. Working in the cold night. No garage FTL, and everyone w/ one is busy. Stuff must get done though. Here's a few snaps while I came in to warm up for a bit.

Starting to resin the port.

And a heater that is completely pointless, love my working conditions. :)

I made an 8" flared port for my single 15" box. Three 4" precision ports were over .5 db louder. :(

Hopefully you get better results. :)

I don't expect to much from this box, just sorta something to put them in for the time being. Going to order precision ports soon though.

Well my worklog kinda went to ****. Was in a race for time to get it in before the school/work week begins for me. I'll get some pics in a min of it in. Be warned it's nothing to look at lol.

No tablesaw at my place and my jig broke halfway through, but the box gets the job done for the time being. I'll get some vids tomorrow when the other camera is here.

woody89

Kinda disapointed on the lows, but other than that it's pretty loud. Port was cut to where it'd be tuned to around 33hz, doesn't sound like it though.:uhoh:

Try firing the subs forward into the cabin and the port towards the drivers side and see if that makes any difference.

I'll try it tomorrow after school, hopefully get some vids as well. I had sub forward before, but the port was also forward, it wasn't to loud( to ear at least). But I will see now that the port is firing sideways.

I took a quick little video. Neighbors would start complaining if I stayed much longer. I will get some more when I have the chance to go a nearby school or something, and play with things a little more. Little rear window flex, but nothing else picked up to well in the vid off this song. Having tons of blank cd's with nothing wrote on them doesn't help me find my music to well lol.

Vid coming in a few mins, Lil_KB is helping me load it, my computer is being dumb.

It looks like it's tuned close to 33hz. The 35hz hit on Hypnotize didn't seem to have much cone movement so it's probably around there.

The box is just to small is why I think I'm not hitting the lows how I'd like it to be. Once I order some aeros I will be building more boxes to test and experiment with.

Well this isn't the first box I've built, but I plan on just trying out some dif boxes once I get my aeros. MDF isn't the most expensive thing, so going to experiment until I find what works best for my application.
