Coolant problems

Just a week before I have to drive 1000 miles to Atlanta, I have a coolant problem.

Im smelling a syrup like smell in the vents, and I can see it dripping off of the radiator hose, I think thats what that hose is anyway. I cant see all the way up the hose though to see where its coming from.


Also anyone else have any suggestions on what I can do before I go to get the car travel ready?

Just got an oil change, and the cooling system flushed. They added some kind of fluid to the tranny oil.


And the car has 186,090 miles on it.

Okay I think the dripping stopped.


So now it just smells.

Could it be a bad heater core?

Look at the hose harder you may just need to replace a hose.

Sounds like a heater core. Could just be the hose. If you're not getting a puddle on your floor, I'd say it's most likely a hose.

^ what he said. But then again you don't mention where this hose is you see. Is it in the vents?
