the router is a milwaukee heavy duty 5615-29 24,000rpms at 11amps.
i realy like it, it has 1/4 in. and 1/2 in. self-releasing collets also.. its very accurate. and for the $140 i spent on it is rocks.
here is a link i found on it. (http://www.acetoolonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MIL-5615-29)

thanks pv, i always try to make them as flexless as i can also the bracing keeps the enclosure from adding coloration to the music. if that makes sense. lol

I don't think that there's going to be any coloration at all

How much does one of these guys weigh? My SE 15 enclosure for my room is weighing in at 70 lbs, and that's with just 45s in the corners.

PowerNaudio
12-30-2006, 03:53 PM
the enclosure is for a 96 maxima. it not geting carpeted. but DaBeholder might.
i like the naked look. lol
i would rather have it painted with automotive grade paint. make it look nice and shiny. lol

90!?! That's it? Get a new scale bud, cause that looks far heavier than my enclosure here, and I weigh mine on a medical scale (the doctor's office things with the sliders, my mom got one from her office when they went digital), so it's pretty accurate.

well like i said my scale may be off a little. but it reads 90lb, ill find out the exact weight once i take it the shipping company.

the orange clamps are from home depot i like them better then the red ones since they are a little more heavier duty.

If you've got a second, could you explain how your circle jig works? How do you attach it to the piece you're cutting? How do you keep from wrecking the circle once you get almost all the way around and the part it is attached to breaks free?

Thanks.

its really simple, first i measure from the router bit the distance i need for my cut. then i drill a small hole on the jig and on the panel im going to cut my circle. the using the same drill i used to make the hole, i put it trough the jig and the panel. and i start cutting my hole at a rate of about 1/8" at a time, till im trugh the panel. before im done with the cut i stop leaving a small piece of about 1/4" i take the router out. then brake the circle of and sand the little stub thats left.

i hope that answers your question.

Did you double baffle that in order to get the recessed look, or did you do that with the router?

yeah i my self would of rather make the enclosure way bigger but the lack of space in the trunk limited me from making the enclosure bigger. so i worked with the space avalible.
DaBeholder was aware of that. but we couldn't get an extra inch from any where.

but this enclosure will wang, there is no doubt in my mind that it wont rock the trunk. lol. i have made worth scenarios work, and this is no different.

oh well we will see. once he get the enclosure which is getting shipped today. as soon as i get the van back from my wife. lol

DaBeholder will let us know if the enclosure meet his expectations or not.

by the looks of it my scale is just fine the enclosure weight in at 90Lb. thats at the ups store. shipping was a little heavier since i added some wooden corners to the enclosure to protect the corners of the enclosure while shipping and i also double boxed the enclosure which brought the total weight to 101LB.

not bad.
