hey guys right now im running pioneer 4-ways off my eclipse 8443 headunit. im looking for different coaxial speakers (6.5 inch) that will be louder and clearer than these. They just are not loud enough to hear over the bass. Let me know what my best option would be...$120 or less please. thanks!

Try getting a decent set of speakers, and pick up an amp to power them.

electrical will not allow for an amp....ive already done big 3 and battery upgrade and still good amount of dimming. thats why im looking for speakers to run off the headunit that will get as loud and clear as possible. any more suggestions? :)

I would try upgrading your alt, then picking up an amp for the highs... Powering speakers off the head unit while you have a decently high powered sub never works out. Save yourself the money and do it right.

are your gains set correctly? if so, it could be a bad box. how many amps does your stock alt put out?

Pioneer Rev's and find a yourself a 50x2 amplifier to power them. I know you said your electrical system can't handle it, but if you read below you will see that it can...

If your H/U is giving your front coaxles 15x2 watts RMS your current pull (assuming 50% efficiency) is 5.5 amps. Throw an amp in and give them 50x2 watts RMS (again 50% efficiency) and you jumped up to 10 amps. Your current pull only increased by 4.5 amps!

Really, no speaker will sound clear and loud off of H/U power. Buying a lower power external amplifier will be cheaper (if you buy used) and sound better then upgrading your speakers! It truly is the best route to take.

You need an amp more than you need speakers, but you still need both.

REV's or KS's and a budget Profile amp. The comp amp will NOT kill your electrical as explained above.

I know people hate caps around here, but I've seen them used effecitvely. Since you're just looking to add a small amp and eliminate dimming, grab a 1.5 farad cap, and it should take care of the problem. Then you can pick up my eclipse 50w x 2 amp to go with the Revs you should buy, lol.

Pioneer Revs are a great choice.

The JL XR coaxils kick some *** with power going to them. I Heard a set with a 300/2 on them and they sounded amazing and were very loud.
