32hz vs 33hz

Old box 4cft. 32hz facing up new box 3.5 33hz facing rear. The old box hit way lower on 600w the new box is louder because i have a bb1250.1 but doesn't sound as good or get as low. I just hooked it up and didn't fine tune nothing but why is there a difference is it the tuning or size or facing.

Change in both volume, tuning and aiming. Hard to tell what made the difference. Probably a combination of all of the above.

I highly doubt you will get 32hz or 33 hz anyways. You will need to build the enclosure, close to perfection. Which is why i always tune around the 30's. Because if anything goes wrong, the tuning will raise a bit, and having it in the 30's helps.

Not trying to say you can't build enclosures, but just talking reality here.

Its a trunk car, facing to the rear better than up. what do most of you do. it sure is louder so im happy it just was a big change. I still have to adjust the amp and deck and i will se what happens.

Changing tuning by 1hz and box volume by .5ft3 won't make a huge difference, at least not to the ear. How do you know what the boxed is tuned to? Check for air leaks. . .

I can't believe nobody mentioned this. . . check the amp settings!!!

Set the SSF to around 25hz, LPF to about 70hz, phase at 0, and bass boost at 0. Then adjust your gains accordingly.

The sub is a FI Q 15 the box was built from subwoofer tools. This box turned out great its the best one i have built no gaps and sealed with silicone i still have to adjust the amp a little my dmm died so i just set the gains half way so it still need to mess around with the setting and see what happens.

Find a DMM and use it. I wouldn't recommend just setting the gain at halfway, that could be too much.
