I am new at home audio and recently purchased a reciever, 2 loudspeakers and a QSC RMX 850 amplifier. However, I am unsure of how to hook up the the inputs from the reciever to the amp. Can anyone help me. Thanks

You are gonna be looking for a set of preouts on the reciever that say "preout front left, preout front right, or the entire group will be labeled as preouts and then just have each channel labeled as left, right etc. Please note that not all recievers have preouts. Anyway if you have preouts than they will run to the back of the amp where is states "Inputs"

Also, the amp most likely doesn't have RCA ins so you need to get a 1/4 inch to RCA adapter. They are cheap and can be picked up online or at Radio Shack.

a question related to this:

im recently redoing my home theater and am going to be using a 72 inch DLP TV, a HD DVD Player, PS3, 360, and a DENON AVR Reciever (to name a few).

but if i get an amp for the speakers, how does this affect dolby digital or any of the methods they have for equalizing the music internally?

If you use the reciever as your preamp, than all processing is done BEFORE the signal is sent out so it will not affect your surround sound processing at all.

Those are all good amps, your link did not tell me what speakers you were buying or already own so you will have to figure out what kinda power you actually need.

My opinion is that either the Conrad Johnson that I listed or the SECOND counter point amp would best suit your set up, but none of those amps will disapoint you.

Conrad is probally the best built out of everything I listed with the exception of mabye the bryston and hafler, they are essencially the same thing and are complete friggin tanks.

you may also want to consider an ART cleanbox to convert your signal
