How many sane people have this in their bedroom? :D

The new addition to the family, although it's one of the oldest subs I own :(

The veteran newcomers :D

And what you see when you walk into the room:
http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/8518/IMG_0095.jpg

Here's the lowdown. If any of you remember, I had bought the SE off of a member on here to use in me and my father's home theater. Turns out, it wasn't functional. After that, I just put it into my closet and almost just threw it away multiple times. However, this friday I was bored so I decided to take it down to the garage. Lo and behold, the tinsel to terminal connection had been completely sheared off. A little silver solder later, and the sub was back in action. Unfortunately, I already had my two Mach 5 12s running. I said fukkit and whipped up a design in about 20 minutes ( ), and headed out the door to home depot. Got my MDF, cut it down, built the box in around 2 hours, and fired her up about 40 minutes ago.

The difference is ASTONISHING! Whereas the Mach 5s are loud and clean, the SE is FAR smoother and FAR lower. It's not like I'd choose one over the other, they just sound very different and would cater to different tastes. No, they are not hooked up at the same time (you can see the terminal to the mach 5s exposed because the wiring is hooked into the SE right now). Powered by the trusty Behringer Ep1500 which takes more abuse than any budget amplifier should.

That's a standard issue SLR lens cap there, just to give you some size perspective.

Whatcha think? :D

it's a ID oem 15 getting ~250w off my reciever. i couldn't imagine anymore in a room, it already knocks everything off the walls. i bet you know all about that... you crank it and start hearing things fall and break all over the room, haha...

oh and i have it facing the other way towards the corner of the wall. it's much louder that way...

Honestly, without having cranked up this SE yet, my dayton titanic was the loudest I've had in here, followed by the mach 5s, then my RL-P. Haven't really listened to the se to make judgement. Titanic literally broke my shower (somehow worked the showerhead out of the ceramic or wte the plastic stuff is that the mold is made of) it dropped so low.

And thank you bigwheel, how you been?

i live in an apartment, so no loud bass for me :(

i do have a 12" HT sub in the living room, but can't turn it up. :crap:

the bookshelf speakers are dayton br-1's from parts express and the reciever is a marantz 2240b (from the 1970's ) :)

imo, they work very well together. the dayton's sound VERY good for the price and have plenty of bass for a bedroom-type setup.

I don't watch movies in my room, but I use Tang Band 871s full ranges for my mains, and HiVi B3s for my computer.

I have the same chair only in grey suede. I also have the same printer.

In Orlando, I'm using these old Sonys:
http://i16.tinypic.com/2ezn4md.jpg
They are ****** towers and sound very very smooth. I don't have center channel though but they still sound excellent on music and movies. I can't turn it up very loud though because of my roommates.

In Ocala, I'm using running this:
http://i14.tinypic.com/2h873hu.jpg

It looks much better now but I can't get pictures. I'm running two Aiwa bookshelf speakers off of my Kenwood headunit and they get really loud. The horn is powered by a profile a200xl amp. It claims about 100rms bridged but it doesn't need or see that much power.

My 'Net access, for a myriad of reasons, is a bit sproadic at best here of late and as to the Australian business....the simple answer is no. :crap:

But! She and I are sick and freggin' tired of being apart so the new plan is that I'm going back to Oz sometime after the first of the year (tentatively set for the 2nd week of Feb at present) and just staying for 3 months at a time until the paperwork has gone through.

You can get a tourist visa which is good for 90 days. At the end of that timeframe I can just take a daytrip to New Zealand (quick plane ride from Australia) while getting my visa renewed/replaced for Australia.

The only real downside to this plan is I won't be able to legally work so I'll be a prodessional bum while awaiting the paperwork wars to be concluded. Hard to be mad at the prospect of being given free reign over a coastal city for an indeterminate length of time, however....

Pfft... you should have seen the wiring from the power supply. That **** was beyond ghetto and my cat almost blew it all up ****ing around back there.

It's a lot less ghetto right now but it will never be clean. I mean, my computer table is a ****ing card table that wables like crazy. It's not my place so I'm not really worried about it. The imaging and sound quality is beautiful right now and that's all I really care about.

those behringers take a beating, and i bet it bumps like crazy on those things. i run my ep2500 at 1.4 ohms on an mt 18 and it only gets warm to the touch. why dont you have them both hooked up? i run my mt 18, and ascendant avalanche and assassins together, with a bit of eq i get them to blend perfect...and i only have a 7 band bass preamp. anyways not tryin to push you down. have you done some test tones yet? ;)

all the stuff i use is for HT and music...lol the mt on casters is for feeling the kick in your chest on the otherside of the house, upstairs.

I already tried it, and the amp started clipping like CRAZY. I have the mach 5s wired down to 1 ohm and have the SE wired at 2 ohms. It really gets upset if I crank the machs too hard, but the SE just keeps on truckin. I really want an EP2500 as I've only got the EP1500.
