Ive seen a head unit that is a motorized face. It flips all the way around and is totally black..You push like the top corner or something and it then flips around for controls...I cnat remember the brand....anyone know? I figured you guys know everything there is soo.. Help me out

Sony and Kenwood both used to make models like you're describing. JVC also made a head unit that blacked out when off, but it didn't flip. All had problems with reliability.

I had the Kenwood eXcelon KDC X879 and I loved it. When off, the keypad flips up and hides everything. Cool thing also is that if you really want to take the faceplate off, you can! I've never experienced any problems with it.

Yes.
I had the original Mask, and it was absolutely horrible. Horrible.
It was in the shop more than it was in my car....literally.
In 6 months it was in the shop getting fixed 5 times.

i had the KDC x979, and i never had any problems with it until it got stolen
best HU i ever owned, i'd have rather got a new one than my xxv-01D, but there's none to be had, **** thing even had dolby pro logic

The JVC was called the EL Kamelon.
Panasonic also had a blacked out faces touch screen h/y a couple years back, they had quite a wide vareity of models with that option
